F2P is often a last resort for games like this and would lose the respect and trust from the vets who funded and bought the game. still I'm guessing it will go f2p one day but not right now.
Why people are talking about this game becoming a F2P when they did a Freakkin SUBMARINE LAUNCH for the release?
They need to go F2p. They won't this year, but some time in 2017...with the way things are going? You'd be naive to think it won't happen.
Possibly during the remake of this game, i.e. "Warhammer 40K: Eternal Crusade II". We can hope can't we?
This game should become f2p on the future. I mean, I paid 40 bucks and I want some sexy before f2p pack with it, but at least I will see my friends playing it.
Jeah... go free to play and laugh in my face about the funder pack i bought with 150€, sure But F2P titles need a huuuge playerbase to make profit of them. B2P Titles can surivive with lower player count, as all of them have paid money allready, while F2P Players are not always easy on the cash. Whatever will happen, i will be there and look
Since some people are extremely uneducated on what F2P means, let me elaborate a bit: F2P system does NOT mean free2play games, it means there WILL be mechanics, which will hinder your progress and force you to either grinding 12h a day or pay constantly to get somewhere. F2P mean ALL the cool things are restricted to paywalls. There are more or less intrusive systems, but the more you play, the more you're likely to be forced to open your wallet once, then again, then again and on the long run you end up paying much more then if the game was simple B2P. F2P also equals to unlimited influx of griefers, hackers and spam, because making new account means nothing. F2P is a solution for a game that is about to make its last breath, not the one that barely released. Plus its extremely demanding game which hogs PC resources. If you can't afford it, its very likely you don't have hardware to run it anyway. You can't have game just go F2P and be done with it, it needs to be built and optimized for masses with potato PCs to systain population and to fish out the ones who will pay. F2P is about the WORST thing that can happen to EC, so kindly, suck up the idea and forget it ever existed. Believe me, I KNOW what I'm talking about here from the first hand experience as I'm working with F2P games(no, not browser or mobile shits, client based games).
