We're now going to pretend that TF2 success had nothing to do with it being F2P from get go and riding on TF1 brand?

We're just going to pretend that TF2 was first game to the series?

Now? People have being doing that even before f2p

Saying that good weather during summer month has no influence on player numbers at all is just as dumb. Good weather during sommer months always impacted player numbers. Not everyone who plays games is a basement dwelling nerd.

That beeing said, obviously it is not the ONLY reason. But if I have the choice between playing EC right now or sitting outside having bbq with friends, the choice would be pretty easy.

The weird thing is that I'm actually enjoying Overwatch right now, quite a lot. I'm not even that much of a hardcore FPS player and my aim is not really that good... but it's fun, both with buddies and by myself. A lot of my free time goes in to it. If blizzard's business model for Overwatch was more forgiving, I'd probably sink a lot of cash in to it.

I wish I could say exactly what makes it fun, so that something could be taken away from it to add to games like EC that I just don't have as much motivation for. If I had to guess, it would be that drive to "git gud"... the fact that I know that it's my own gameplay that affects situations around me. I need no other drive to play Overwatch besides becoming better, and there's lots of videos on youtube to work on that and sink my time in to. It's also extremely polished and everything works very nicely. Even the balance of the game is pretty good at the moment. You could argue that Blizzard has the budget for it, but consumers do not care about the background. They only care about the final product and what it offers.

While i'd never want to call myself one of the best players in EC, there's just something that makes me feel like it has a lower skill cap. I guess there are more situations in EC that you really can't do anything about... either that or we do not have a "competitive" scene that shows that the game can be played at a higher level than we already do.

Having said that, it was fun to play with friends for the short time they stayed interested... but they didn't stay. That's the million dollar question really isn't it... what makes other games more interesting to people than EC? and what could EC implement to make it more interesting? within the boundaries of their budget and manpower.
  7. Less than 200 people on the game as of 9am cst US. very sad. I really like the over all fun you can have in this game but damn just don't like hanging around trying to get in one.

The sun sets in England currently at around ten pm... I think most people have logged off for the night by then but at least you climbed down from your ridiculous original post.

I could argue with you for longer but I honestly don't actually care enough. At the end of the day there are lots of reasons why games surge in popularity, just as there are many more why some eventually dip as well. That is just one of them. Common sense it seems isn't all that common in Europe. I will put this down to a translation error for now because I dont think youre stupid enough to translate something as generic as this and then take it so literally normally. Nobody is that narrow-minded usually. Not in Europe and not someone who is a founder as you so carefully pointed out.

newsflash bro: lots of people here are founders, I am too. It doesn't give me 1 ounce of credibility or intellect over anyone else here. I got the £70 package (the top one you could) because I believed in this game back then. I still believe in it now too, hence I still come here to check on it. I choose not to play it currently because for me the content has been exhausted and I have chosen to move on to other games but I still come back here to support it.

So next time you feel like shooting your mouth off you might be better learning who your audience is, or I would have to refer you to my original response to you.
  9. Plenty of unskillful stuff in OW.

    Hanzo comes to mind....

Bjorn turrets, the other chicks turrets who's name I can't think of right now.

EC and OW both favor heavily people who understand the map and every available route. Then it mostly just comes down to who got the drop on who first with skill sometimes coming out on top even when you were jumped on first.

I mean you can pull off some epic escapes with a JPA that can be like getting away with a Genji or Lucio etc.

EC has tricks and cool things to learn just like any other game.

Mostly though, I think it's rare for anyone to stick with a game for long period of time in todays gaming world and like I said before, BURNOUT IS OK. It happens on EVERY game.

Take a month off, go enjoy something else, come back refreshed.

Well when you're basically punished for choosing the wrong faction, people have a tendency to remember shit like that.
