I find melee is fine if you are engaging in favourable circumstances. I've wracked up 35 melee kills with my ork shield slugga a few times, and I found it only happened when there was other orks nearby to distract. When I play melee I typically hide around a corner and wait for enemies to shoot at someone. Once they do I run behind them and systematically start cutting them down from the rear or flank. This also works great for shooting; killed 5 guild LSM today at torias by using this same strategy. But in a straight up melee fight, one on one, I agree it's a mess. It's mostly chance. Some melee players are amazing, and you can tell with their reflexes and how they bait people into different attacks. One thing I can't stand as a ranged (or melee) player is when you DBash a guy, if you roll back they just power attack and cover the distance in 2 seconds. I typically jump forward behind them to counteract this, but they still seem to be able to pull off the most ridiculous physics by starting an attack facing the opposite way and doing s full 180 degree turn on a dime to hit you anyway. It makes melee drawn out, which is why not many people enjoy playing it. Especially eldar melee classes...~shudder/cringe~.
What did you expect? Sportaflop? Game have no major updates. We are playing on a maps we've been dozens of times. I am sure, that even terminators won't raise online more than a couple of weeks: after euphoria we will still have all the problems that were before.
