It would be cool jumping into the enemy's lesser defended lines as a Raven Guard assault marine.

It's the same as asying "Omg who needs raptors! Berzerkers do the same!"
No, man, there's a gap in attitude and combat doctrines.
    BT don't drop
    BT don't fly.
    THEY COME

Salamanders? What's their point? Lots of flamers and meltas? Pffft.
You can issue the same amount to any random tactical squad.
I can handle the same amount of them to any. Filling some role, you say?
Imperial fists? The same Ultrasmurfs, but always hiding in some OMGWELLFORT
With no specialty about them. ALL space marines are Fearlsess super-humans

Nope, their beards are thin asian ones. They don't ride freaking wolves with wolf pelts with wolf axes.
Tey ride bikes use spears and scimitars and use many fur coats.
Their armour is not covered in animal trophies, so no, White Scars are AWESOME

I picked Salamanders, green, mean, and well their famous for protecting civilians the most.

  6. Here's one problem though. You haven't explained at all why Black Templars are unique. "They come" and "Land Raiders, yo!" seem to be the only thing that's diverse about them. But the thing is... every chapter does that. Just because they do it enmasse doesn't make them diverse, which is your argument against the Salamanders there. Heck with the new codex you can remove assault marine's jet packs, shove them into a Land Raider Crusader, and there you are. Ultramarines fighting like the BT. Such diversity! Only thing that's special with them is mixed squads.

Heck if anything you've just pointed out why the BT aren't good for this game (again not in the 40K universe or tabletop game, just this game). Everything that makes them unique are restrictions. No devastator squads, class locked. No librarians, potential class locked. Scouts don't function as usual scouts, meaning weapon restrictions. Tactical Marines favor melee weapons, more weapon restrictions. Now they could work if they had a special class, Emperor's Champion rather then Devastator, but that would be a balancing fiasco.

But I agree with you on the White Scars. They would be awesome in the game. Space Mongolians > Space Vikings.
  7. The black templar do charge in mass but they aren't psychopaths like the berserkers ,their main strategy is to launch an armored spearhead attack to the weakest part of the front in order to outflank their enemy.
And just to clear things up they wear black in mourning for the emperor following in dorns footsteps after his oath, you underestimate that what you know nothing of.

    That's a really cool faceplate.

I agree with you here like bud, warpman you clearly have not looked into salamanders or imperial fists at all, dorn damn near caused a second space marine civil war to oppose the codex rules that the ultramarines brought in, also the imperial fists are relentless assaulters and to give up during an assualt is an impossible thought for them. The crusade on the iron warriors eternal fortress that almost wiped out the legion at the time is surely proof of this.
