Not ALL the Thousand Sons are automatons...just the poor, unfortunate, psychically ungifted ones. As far as them not being aligned...what's your point? Tzeentch is the God that brokers the alliances between the Dark Powers when they go full Undivided anyway, so really, if we're going to have a Mono-God Legion as a playable Warband, one sworn to Tzeentch is the only one that really makes sense.
Well okay should have been more specific only the Sorcerers aren't Automatons lol, but anyway IMO I really think World Eaters or even Emperor's Children since not all of their members are just Berzerkers or Noise Marines, maybe Death Guard but not sure bout that.
This sucks. Thousand Sons is tied for my #1 favorite along with Word Bearers but I have to choose the Alpha Legion over Thousand Sons. I just feel that 1)They would be to different from the other legions gameplay which could cause difficulties for the developers and possibly ruin their mystique and image as badasses and 2)It wouldnt seem right that there only be one legion devoted to a single god. They would just seem so out of place and there would be plenty left out who wish for the other gods. Alpha Legion would fit into the atmosphere of this MMO a lot better in my opinion.
How could you play then? You cant have a TS warband without the Rubric Marines but it would be breaking lore if we could play as Rubric marines. So a warband of strictly sorcerors. I dont like the sound of that.
Every Legion announced thus far has been Undivided. It makes sense the fifth one is going to be the last Undivided Legion left. 'Cult Troops' like Berserkers and Plague Marines seem more likely as advanced classes than the Legions they are famous for.
While we don't know how it will all work... I think the TS would be fine as the test of using them until you become a powerful Sorcerer is hours of slow mindless blasting away, if you don't have the patience to undergo those many many hours of slow repetitive firing away you're not devoted enough to be a TS sorcerer. But you can't have Rubric Marines in any other legion, only the TS have them
