Provided i'm not defending on a ticket style game I usually just charge the nearest enemy point or friendly contested trying to get as many kills as possible while trying to cap/help cap.
Fun > Win > Kill > Capture > Tank Hunt My typical priorities. I probably should value captures above kills, but if I honestly had a choice between getting a multi-kill with a grenade and mopping up the survivors and capturing a point I'd probably just take the kills. I firmly believe that if a single player is killing / occupying multiple enemies at a time then they are pulling their weight, and sure there are times when people should drop everything and run to the objective a lot of the time that gets in the way of the fun, and nothing gets in the way of my fun. Nothing.
Grinding XP. Sure Wining gives you some extra XP but not enough to stop grinding to win ;D If the grinding leads to winning : is ok too ^^ If not grinding xp : toying around with not usual played classes. (which adds nothing to the win in most cases) Why Winning would mean less xp: You must change your loadout to the class that is needed (downtime redeploy) You must defend some useless point (downtime standing around) You will get less xp for NOT losing the point then you would get for recaping it. You must run to the given targets (downtime running) You must die for the team if it benefits from it (downtime running / redeploy ) You will die much more often because you will often face zergs (Downtime running / redeploy) Why not winning gives more xp : You play your class, you know your class, you are good at it. You can zerg cap points. You can zerg cap points again after the enemie has recapped them You can run where the xp is (loneley predator i am looking at you) You can run away and let the others die. (prevents running and redeploy) You are the zerg yourself ^^
I just play to have fun with all the wonderful people online. View: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1VrklsnxlIE View: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jBDGgAmoqhE View: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eAFC0z135mU
Winning or trying my best to win. I don't really care about the XP beyond that it unlocks things that make me better at helping my team.
Winning, but to a degree. Like, I still play against most guilds with PUGS, and that's a 5% winning chance at best. If I was too invested into winning I would skip those games, or play on easy mode as a guild member myself. However, once in a game I'll do the actions no one else wants to do in order to help the team win. That said, my guess is that most people online has xp as their main objective. You see that all the time. In a tug-of-war, most people will stay on the point being capped instead of moving on to the next point because they don't want to lose that 400 xp. Same in domination maps, the entire team could gather around a point solely to rake in that xp instead of doing something productive. A third example, and it's a big one, is very few players ever stay to protect a point. Most players want to run towards the action, to get kills etc., and this is all playing into getting as much xp as possible and not about focusing on doing what provides the win. -------------- They need to nerf it further!
