As much as I want another First Founding chapter, I would really like to see what Behavior can come up with.
Exactly! I think they have more than enough passion to create something new that fits, and from what we've seen they've more than earned that right to do so. Besides, to most players, Ultramarines already cover the 'plain space marine' angle, so there's no need for Imperial Fists. I know that there's a vast difference between these chapters but most players won't care that much. Plus, I've almost had enough of all the focus being on first founding chapters.
Fists still bring an angle to the game we rarely get to see and it'd be nice to roll them out instead of Templars for once....that said thanks to the plethora of information we have on the other first founding thanks to recent expansions in the Black Librarys repository it'd be lovely jovely to see some Iron Hands or White Scars making an appearance since unlike the second founding who are mostly covered by the already available options they have a pretty unique structure and approach to battle.
I'm pretty sure a similar poll was around... though it might have been the one you said was rudundand but my choice is still the same: Iron Hands They would be a great way to add the mechanicus in to the game rather than have another basic chapter in the game as it seems Imperial Fists are taking the lead atm. I'm not totaly sure would the salamanders do the same but I know they have some small link to mechanicus also. But these are my toughts on the matter.
Salamanders aren't really connected to the Mechanicum; but they are expert smiths and if Vulkan Lives is anything to judge some real fierce S.O.B's
I'd imagine that Imperial Fists are taking a lead because of not only their first founding status, but their connections to the Black Templars and the Crimson Fists. Speaking of which, why not do Crimson Fists? They've got their own thing going and aren't first founding. Seriously. Iron Hands and Salamanders are awesome and all (I'm a big fan of the Hands personally), but why not give the other Chapters some loving? Mantis Warriors? Carcharodons? Sons of Medusa? Dark Hunters? Genesis Chapter? Maybe something new? There's a wealth of Chapters out there. We shouldn't have to revisit the same ones over and over just because they used to be big names. That's like making Greece out to be a military giant just because they used to be one, millenia ago.
Minotaurs are the only non-1st chapter worth adding and of the first it'd be nice to see some Scars getting a little loving.
Just like Relic and Fantasy Flight? So, let's see... Unknown geneseed, mysterious past, derivative chapter logo.
