Well yea, they are technically a chapter. They're much closer to what they were as a legion than any other first founding chapter and some Space Wolves fans refer to them as the Space Wolves Legion, although it is a misnomer.
I could never play salamanders. Not because I disapprove of them in any way or for holding some sort of lore-based grudge. No I couldn't play them simply because I'm still sore at the salamander player who thrashed my Tau 7 kill points to 1 in my first tournament. Anyway, nowadays I'm an imperial fist player so there goes my vote.
I voted Salamanders as it would put a nice mix to things. They are a group of people which spawn from a world where their skin is dark and their eyes can turn colors.... how cool would that be to see? Plus, some of their armour, adorned with serpent motifs and decorations, looks pretty beastly.
12,000 brothers, divided into 12 Companies 1,000 brothers each. Plus additional, legendary 13th Company, led by Leman Russ himself.
I would love to see the Salamanders included. Although I am one of the lucky ones who has my chosen chapter as a launch option (via the Allfather's blessing), I do feel that Salamanders have an interesting lore and offer an intense fiery contrast to the glacial force that the wolves bring to bear.
White Scars all the way. They are one of the more mysterious chapters, they were an original legion, and who needs to hold ground when the Scars have the enemy leader's head on a pike? Ftw attack bikes! And of course none of that "we're sad that we were so stupid after the heresy, so we make up for it by maiming ourselves" (Impenetrable Fortress, anyone?) Edit: oops turns out I meant Iron Cage
