That's because that's what you are used to playing. Guys that are actually good.. have been playing nothing but game pad for years.. are VERY proficient.
That all depends on the player. My experience with melee on PC versus PS3 is that I have to key bind differently on PC to get the same effectiveness. But then my key bind isn't as effective for a shooting build so now I have to have 2 seperate key bind sets.. Since I have a keyboard that can do that I'm okay.. but on PS3 I can do both effectively without any changes. People who don't know how to design a key bind with economy of motion and ergonomics in mind will not be able to beat a basic player on a controller in melee.
If i can i would love to get it for PC, but knowing me and my marvelous luck with technology i'll surely end up playing in the PS4 PS: I'll go with the horse without doubt if one of my friends gets EC for the PS4 too. So i guess my vote this year is for the PS4
Keybinds aren't the main advantage, speed and precision are. Was the video I embedded not enough evidence (Even though there's much more available online)? An average KB+M user plays against average controller users, and the KB+mouse user wipes the floor. If controllers were as you say, equal to the KB+M, wouldn't we see a relatively even number of KB+M and controller users in competitive games? Why don't we see controllers used in FPS e-sports? Why don't Tribes players use controllers? They're the same as KB+M in terms of ability, speed and precision, right? Mouse & keyboard is objectively better for shooters. It's quicker and more precise, and better than controllers for any shooter game. It's why Microsoft dropped cross platform play for their titles on the 360, because mouse and keyboard came out on top every time, you're able to aim ridiculously quickly with pinpoint accuracy which isn't possible with 2 pads. It wouldn't have looked good if PC gamers kept trumping console players on Microsoft's then-new console.
I am not sure tribes has controller support for one thing. 2. I have seen plenty of guys smash KB+M players with controllers. You can argue/debate this any way you want, you won't convince me to change what I have seen. As far as a youtube reference, that isn't evidence at all. So you can site that all you want, it carries about as much weight as wiki does. None. Imo. Pretty easy to manipulate digital media, and children and their ego's (I am NOT calling you a child, to clear that up) will take the time to do so. At any rate, you aren't changing my mind, I know what I have seen/done in games, and it is contrary to what you have seen/done. Better to stop now, as I am not trying to convince you of anything, and you won't be able to convince me. We will just have to agree to disagree I guess. Edit: Tribes does have controller support.
KB+M is overwhelmingly better for almost everything; the only exception I can think of are racing games, where a unique wheel controller is pretty great. I used to say that fighting games were an exception to the rule, too, until EVO and others banned keyboard controllers (and similar) because they gave an unfair advantage. PC for me.
How is it not evidence of KB+M being superior to controllers for shooter games? And are you saying that video is somehow edited to make it look like KB+M is better? Also, what do you mean by "as much weight as wiki does"? You're saying stuff like this, rejecting anything I post (Including video evidence of a mouse + keyboard user in a match full of players using controllers, and the mouse + keyboard user does so well to the point of hack accusation) and showing/citing nothing which backs you up. Your arguments are so far irrelevant, you have no evidence to back you up, and yet you're rejecting whatever evidence I provide. Do you need some more evidence? Mouse and Keyboard is better than controller for shooters. It's quicker, more precise, and isn't bound to min/max movement speeds or sensitivities. You can use whatever control input you want, whatever method you feel best comfortable, but you're making yourself look foolish by denying facts.
