Y'know that it's behavior like that that draws the trolls in, right? You might as well stick a neon sign on your head that reads "Please rustle my jimmies"
Oh c'mon.. the trolls come no matter what... If you listen closely you can hear the tramping and stamping of their concise march that is headed straight for this forum in due time.
No crafting unless you're a tech-marine. Even then, it just feels wrong for this game. If Tech-Marines could craft good shit, that's all I'd ever want them to do. That would not be compelling game design.
well some regular marines are fairly good at crafting stuff in the lore (check out those salamanders with their flames and such)
If they were to truly implement some sort of Crafting, it would take a great degree of work should I don't mind not being in for an MMOFPS. Even a GW2 complicated Crafting system would require numerous things to acquire, sell, trade, barter, etc that is unnecessary in my opinion. An EVE one wouldn't be Warhammer-esque anymore either, and going to the extreme as well.
I for one would like to see an elaborate crafting system. I love games that have strong, player driven, economies.
I think the devs will think about this, but i don't know if the outcome will be positive or negative: Pros - it will push players into a lot of grinding and will invest in a lot of hours, the possibilities would be endless, weapons will be more versatile with so many attributes and maybe tossing in cosmetics in the crafting will make it a fun and awarding proces. Cons - maybe it will have the Diablo III effect ( the auction house ), it could get boring fast and players could just play the game just to craft.
Crafting is a good free time activity while you are not in battle. I guess it's going to be some sort of visual upgrade of your equipment.
Crafting In a minute way for tweaking equipment, I could handle in this game. but full blown stuff like all the RPG MMOs? God no. there is no need for an economy. we play military units. Marines don't go to the mall between missions. or head to the nearest sewers to farm rat pelts. Why would they NEED currency, the chapter provides. Chaos just takes what it wants, Orks could just punch the teeth out of his nearest friend if he felt poor, and I assume Eldar have grown out of the concept of money. {Captain} "I need fire support on that hill, over." {Sargent} "Negative sir, We have found and ore node and I am sooo close to making my pimp helmet, Sir."
