  1. Why would I be able to gather stuff that I dont have use for? Why would I have excess? This isnt 2004. MMOs have moved past this.

If you want to pull number and make money on a game.. which is what it takes to keep a game afloat... they can't keep EC alive on box sales or in game purchase items without an in game economy that requires farming and crafting and keeping people constantly busy. There has to be something that will require the desperate to spend real money

    I said i would be willing to try crafting if its in there to see the possibilities in having a customized weapon tailored to my taste, as for economy i am not even thinking about it. In the end i am willing to give it a try depending on implementation.

    Meh, don't care much about crafting one way or the other, but I'd probably mess with it if it was there. I'd want it to just be some random thing I can sit down and do between fights though, not some giant chore that I have to plan around.

    More "Well, I've got quite a bit of stuff laying around, let's see what I can make with it", not "I need X thing to be remotely competitive, I'm going to need 3,000 shooty bitz, 5,000 focusing lenses, 200 marks of Khorne, and 20 soul stones..."
  6. I have a feeling it'll be more like different kinds of resource and battle points required to upkeep fortifications and base upgrades... prepare forces for major invasions ect... In order to keep a high OP tempo you might end up busting real cash as a guild/chapter to make up for resources you lack...?

    Might be pretty lame... But the game wont survive on game boxes purchased... and I don't see a marketplace full of pay to wear skins being a viable source of float money either...
  7. I don't see being able to craft too many items.. that doesn't really fit with my understanding of the lore. However, I can see being able to make some sort of affix-point update for part of gear. And to those affix-points, I can attach trophies that might boost stats. Perhaps I make those trophies. Higher levels mean better trophies and more possible affix points.



    Hmm.. none of the ones that I've played that have been released in the last year. They ALL have worthless junk that must be sold/trashed.

The Devs already said there will be a form of crafting in the game, but your space marine/eldar/ork/chaos marine will not be swinging a hammer per say, and that it will be done as close to lore as they can manage, ie. mechanicum astartes/mechanicum/forge worlds. You won't be trying to collect mats/resources either. More like you will have to capture mats/resource areas (mines or pve style dungeons) to get mats/resources to get better gear/equipment made. It also sounds like there will be some sort of salvage mechanic in the back ground as you take areas or kill opponents so that as combatants we don't have to stop fighting to gather mats/resources.

    Crafting is going to be in the game in some fashion, although the devs stated in the Q&A that it'll be more along the lines of modifying existing equipment, not forging your own.
