Not a fan, theyre just some random chapter Relic thought up. No one knows what legion theyre originally from and they seem really sterotypical and boring to me (*cough*Gabriel Angelos *cough*). Plus, Blood Raven fans seem to be edgy little teens who just started playing Space Marine and think that the Bluhd Magpies are "teh best chapt0r evar" (I know that doesnt fill the whole demographic, theres plenty of mature BR fans, but that doesnt change the fact that there are a lot of BR fans who are pure cancer); Not to mention their fluff is just plain boring. I started my 40k hobby with DoW, but even then i didnt care for BR that much, i was more drawn to the Imperial Fists anyway.
There seem to be a lot of "oh, lets hate this for Soulstorm" guys that just seem to be the type of 4chan people that jump on the "Matt ward! Now lets hate all Ultramarines!" bandwagon too. Also, looting things off the dead, while unseemly, is not the same as theft. Especially if the alternative was letting the orks have it or such. Also, before you talk about Space marine, at least stop being ignorant enough just as long as it takes for you to realise that the game has Ultramarines in it, not Ravens. Somebody is denser than an ogryn! Don't act like the Blizzard fanboys who say Space marine and go "Baaaaaw, starcraft ripoff, baaaaw!" That's bad, mkay. Also, the Blood Ravens are not the only chapter that uses a lot of Librarians. The Silver Skulls do the same. Another chapter, the Mortifactors, seem to have at least somewhat psychic Chaplains. Not sure how that works.
Their insignia looks like a toilet seat and Grandpa Smurf screwed up the Emperor's plan for the Space Marine legions by separating them all into chapters. Thousands and thousands of chapters via the Codex Astartes. Beyond the fact that they've become the poster-boys of the Imperium, I say there's plenty of reasons to not like the Ultrasmurfs. As far as the Blood Ravens are concerned. I don't like them. Like, what? Their goal is to take a bunch of relics in order to figure out how they originated?
I'm ambivalent. I don't care either way about the Blood Ravens. Don't hate them but don't have any love for them either.
GW says there are about a thousand chapters, total, in the 41st millenium. For what that's worth. Here's what the primarchs who survived the Heresy did: Dorn: Lost most of his legion in the Iron Cage. Died during a Black Crusade. Vulkan: MIA. Didn't even tell his sons where he was going. Russ: MIA into the Eye of Terror. That was smart. Khan: Kidnapped by Dark Eldar, don't ask. Corax: MIA into the Eye of Terror. Guilliman: Ruled the Imperium, set up the Adeptus Terra, wrote the Codex Astartes, killed Alpharius, poisoned in battle with Fulgrim. Sorry, you were saying about primarchs?
You could also say that because of Guilliman's, "second founding" there are probably tens if not over a hundred unchecked chapters that could be consorting with or has fallen to chaos with no-one knowing because Imperium forces are spread so thin. And now Xenos activity is more rampant than ever.
