Poison (and flames) would be far less a problem if they would not be applied through clangs and counters. And yes, the Necrotic feels somewhat overused, most likely because of ^.
People have tested this pretty hard and it doesn't appear to actually happen. There are some odd instances of application during I-frames, but there's no evidence that application through clangs/counters is anything but lag making something look like something it isn't.
Only gripe, about poison, i am having is the broken Chaos Chainsword that poison regardless of what is happening.
Testing report thingies are in either the most recent UAT thread, or the one before that, I forget which, if you want to have a look yourself.
I haven't encountered it in the last week, but i am fairly certain it does happen on the liveserver with a regularity that is bordering on "guaranteed to happen, whenever i encounter it". And i have a hard time believing that everyone of them is lagging.
I'd argue it's one of the only really effective melee weapons in game with the current state of melee. There are a lot of broken game mechanics in game right now causing severe imbalances that are working in favor of ranged archetypes. I find it laughable that we're even talking about nerfing one of the only effective "hit and run" melee weapons in game.
I believe you until I have evidence to the contrary. I mean, would be about time that stopped, now wouldn't it?
Chaos really doesn't need yet another item that is restricted to Mark of Nurgle... there is barely any reason to run any other mark anyway. We really don't need to pile onto that.
Could simply be you lagging, that would be a consistent element if so. I'm fairly certain tests were conducted on live as well as actually in the UAT. As a full-time Lashsword enthusiast... there's nothing "hit and run" about ailment weapons. No-one's going to die to the poison while you're running, and if you're two-passing one opponent the poison will decay enough between attacks that you'd be better off with a crappy damage mod. Ailment melee weapons are used to (a) push you over EHP breakpoints in 2-3 strike fights (Lashsword/Necrotic) or (b) give you lifesteal ticks against multiple opponents by spreading hits around (Necrotic+MoK).
