If any of this involves any tzeentch trickery/plot twists or ork comedic events, not to mention some good old fashion Inquisition conspiracy sneakiness then count me in.

Needs Daleks. Nothing involving Time Lords, though, we'd actually like to win for once.

  3. im afraid that won't be possible.
    1. you can't beat the chaos gods.
    2. there are a few other things that can beat daleks in 40k
    3. doctor who is always going to be where you are to stop you.

  4. I don't mind the plot, as long is it involves ancient tech, and hopefully advancing the storyline of 40k :p

    I agree completely.

There will be a background lore, that will most likely be a "PLOT TWIST! AHA!" and will be defined by the presence of the Tyranids with no hive fleet nearby. (Maybe some Genestealer cult, who knows...)

But the TRUE story of the planet will be written by the players. Heroic last stands, crushing victories or defeats, mastermind tactics, amazing warcries in a moment of epic battles, heroic duels between two reknown and formidable warriors, maybe even nemesis of each other!

Squadrons doing great sacrifices and deeds being remembered forever in the minds of the players... out thinking, out maneuvering, an epic appearance of suddenly a huge squad of terminators reinforced by a Land Raider, a last effort by the Space Marine faction saving up Requisition points...

an Unstoppable Waaagh! that makes the other three factions truly sit down and ally in an unprecedented state of things...

Infinite events, situations, stories of individuals, squadrons, and armies, that like others have said, could fill several tomes of enciclopedias...

    It could be lovely.

Well it looks like PVE in this game will be purely procedural and solely against the Tyranids for now.. Basically from what i've gathered it will be like this:

You are exploring and you stumble upon a cave/dungeon/ruins. This will give you the option to enter such ruins in which a "raid" of sorts will be a procedural meaning a random map and list of enemies based on some limitations set on by programming. At the end of such event you will be awarded with relics in which you can upgrade your abilities/skills and/or weapon.

The game will be entirely PVP and it will be a constant war much like the grim, dark future in Warhammer40k. It will be a toss up of power and territory control for resources.
  8. Ummm, warhammer 40k. Its not going to change, its like that all the time. If you want it to change you could say Tyranids>spacemarines>orks>eldar>chaos. Or that the planet has a relic they want, it will hardly change anything, this is a universe where there is only war, its either corruption or alien invasion.

Sometimes it's artifacts or ruins or go figure :p (Look at Mechanicus Explorer Fleets)

Lets not be a bunch of hypocrites, we love the cheesiness 40k brings to the table, and you know it. I loved all those plots and stories in the DoW series, not to mention that considering two authors from the BL are part of the creative team, we will surely have a story that is similar in some aspects to the novels.
The cosmic engine interviewed Graham McNeil recently, i suggest you go watch it.
