Deckard nodded in comprehension as the Warmaster spoke. He was alarmed to hear that they were trapped within this system, but he had expected the explanation for their long delay would have been something similar to that. He was not an experienced voidsman, but he knew well enough from his colleagues in other departments of the Imperial Navy that fleets were often inconvenienced by the fickle warp travel they relied upon. The nature of the task-force and the mission itself, however, seemed unremarkable to him. By this point he was used to flying delicate operations with vague objectives, carting around important personnel and objects. The only thing that made it out of the ordinary - and cause for concern - was the diverse cast assembled for the task-force. That suggested that their future duties may not be so mundane. As the Warmaster finished speaking and questions began to be raised, Deckard also spoke up: "If I may, ma'am, I have some questions; where do we report for deployment? Are we being reassigned to lodgings on-board the Sword of Wrath? And who is the commanding officer in-charge of this task-force?" @Maleth
It had been a long and boring day for Ludwig as he stood in the hallway of the Sword of Wrath, watching as Guardsmen and other personnel passed by. Like always, Ludwig seemed to do his duty of unnerving the men he was supposed to assure the morale of. "When there is something scary in the front, you put something even scarier in the back" Ludwig whispered the old Guardsman's joke, letting out a soft chuckle. It was only when a man approached that Ludwig's attention was diverted from the men and women who seemed to speed up when they passed by. "Your purpose?" the tall figure in his overcoat and gas mask asked as a young Guardsmen, likely a messenger slowly approached. "You have been summoned by the Warmaster, she wishes to see you at the Bridge" the young man spoke, giving a salute before darting off down the hallway, obviously uncomfortable around a man who was likely to take his life if his bravery ever faltered. Strolling through the ship Ludwig seemed to be taking his time as he made his way towards the Bridge, perhaps a much lonnger time than he should of. Entering the Bridge it seemed he had arrived slightly late, coming in the room only moments before the Warmaster herself began to speak, something that might earn him punishment in the future. Regardless, Ludwig had little care for arriving late and simply took his place in the back corner of the room, away from everyone else where he would lean against the wall and listen. Taking notice of each individual within, Ludwig noticed a Sanguine Templar, one of the few people in the room that he respected on any level. The only others being the Guardsmen and other Astartes in the room, as well as the Warmaster of course. Spoiler: OOC So waking up and immediately writing a post surprisingly doesn't produce my best work, I apologize.
Ares towered all as he simply stood in silence, carefully listening as the many heads of this Emperor-forsaken crusade, only after having listened and processed the information through and through, had the Imperial Fist decided to begin speaking; "Warmaster, wouldn't it be more efficient to split this team into two and cover more worlds this way? Each team could easily field two Astartes each, three on one team even, this would make each team a formidable force along with the rest of the operatives of this hastily formed task-force." Ares then lifted his finger upwards towards the holo-map displaying the planets of the system, pointing directly at the forge world of Lafortina, "A forge world, seeing as we're cut off from the rest of the Imperium due to the hostile winds of the Immaterium we might as well invest on taking control of that world since we will need a constant link of supplies being delivered to the troops of this crusade. Lest we run out of fuel for our machines, munitions for our weaponry and Emperor forbids- Our chances of victory." Ares the proceeded to return to a standard posture, lowering his finger as he looked towards the Warmaster directly, "I am no Warmaster nor Lord-General, indeed, however I do have my extensive share of brutal combat and know that supplies tend to run dry during times of war, especially during times of conquest far, far away from our homes and beloved Imperium."
Whilst everyone continued to bicker and talk amongst themselves over Tactics, Lianna was... Well, she stayed silent against the wall. Her arms were crossed over her carapace chestpiece, whilst her helm stared at the 'Grey Knight'. ....What in the name of the Emperor's sweaty buttocks is that kind of power armour? She thought to herself. Now- She's seen plenty of sorts of power armour. Loyalist, traitor, ramshackle, heresy-era, modern-era, all sorts. She's even seen Tau battlesuits! But this; she's only remembered it.... Once, off in the distance from Cadia at one particular raiding invasion that had numerous, shining knight-like space marines fighting off the Daemons and Chaos Marines alongside the guardsmen in her younger years. She never saw them again of course, but that raised the question of, why is something so holy and fabulous, and large here? There's nothing that seemed like it'd need it. And moreso--- Ahh, whatever. Lianna's arm lowered to rest upon the hellgun that was on a sling around her, and sighed. Too much confusion in one group for her liking.
Before warmaster comes in- @High_Adept_Zeth "It is a pleasure to meet you Agate, Alpha of the Omega maniple, it is good to see a member of the mechincus apart of our meeting along with what seems almost all arms of the imperium, Could I possibly ask more about you? possibly about where you have served and how long have you served in the mechanicus and what your duties among them are? If it is no trouble." Catherine asked deciding to get to know one of the mechincus skiatrius. @Keidivh "Thank you sir Zuriel, Could I how long your chapter has served the imperium and also about some of the battles its been in with its services, I have heard very little besides your chapter being descendants of sanguine and possibly what type of combat your chapter specializes with." Catherine asked deciding to ask about the sanguine Templar Chapters past battles and types of fighting style. @Wata "Good to meet you Sergeant winds. May you and your regiment receive great honors and do great things upon this crusade. Are you alright if I may ask you seem just a bit tense?" Catherine asked seeing the sergeant look to be a bit stressed. @XV-878 "Good to see you lieutenant Lucus, Maybe during this crusade you will be flying me and my sisters, into battle, It must be quite a site seeing a planet from the high skys and atmosphere and from space, wouldn't you agree?" Catherine asked. -Warmasters Council - Now Catherine listened with ease and calm now was a time for questions about there mission. "I have a question how are we to engage when coming into contact with these unknown factions, Are we to not fire upon them and possibly make contact or avoid and only observe?" Catherine asked about the mission. "And what are we allowed to bring besides are basic gear and will we be able to requestion any additional equipment for the use or aid in scouting such as Auspex, scout vehicles or aid in stealth." Catherine finished asking her questions basics and mostly normal. @GobMaw_HellSmasha Catherine as her questions were took a quick glance at the grey shining astarte to enter with the inqusitor, She wondered for a moment what chapter he was from? She had never seen armor or markings like his before maybe he was from one of the far off chapters away from where she had served, maybe she would get a chance to ask the marine later if she saw him.
@Vulpas "I'm fine." Erika replied to Catherine, fixing a weak smile on her face. "I hate space." She muttered to herself and resumed waiting. The Kasrkin had managed to relax her somewhat, but this gathering of Warriors was strange and was about to get stranger. When the Warmaster entered and the meeting got underway Erika settled on listening. They seemed a colorful bunch, something about the inquisitor and that grey astartes seemed off, however. When she heard about the warpstorm keeping them trapped, she cursed and sighed. "I hate space even more." She said under her breath.
Before the Warmaster arrived, Ferra had already been at a loss of words, debating whether to shut out the Penitent Engine's occupant (who was, after all, for some reason doing penance) or whether to use the words of what seemed to be a former Sister as advice, and meditate on them. Luckily, the crusader wasn't forced to think for herself after all, as none other but the Crusade's orchestrator herself walked in, two Astartes (and what seemed like other important people) in tow. Immediately, the robed warrior straightened herself and diverted most of her attention to Theanon. It occurred to her briefly that she had never seen an Astartes in unpainted armour, but their own chaptres and customs were as numerous as the stars, and so she dismissed it as yet another eccentricity of the blessed Emperor's chosen few. What did bother her a bit more than the Space Marine was the fact she couldn't quite place who this woman of the cloth was that had joined them - Letisma; she was wearing their armour, and carried herself in a very Adepta Sororitas way, but Ferra didn't know her face or voice. She conceded to the fact she didn't, and sighed as the briefing began. - With all the questions already asked, she chose not to add her own. It was unnecessary after all; the Imperium provides, and if they had any intel on who the factions could be, they would have shared.
~Before Warmaster walks in~ ( @Vulpas ) As Agate exchanged words with Catherine, it noticed a shorter compatriot of hers - a fellow Sister, standing by her side, through the color-scheme of her power-plate differed greatly from that of Catherine. However the mentioned Battle Sister did not engage in conversation, so Agate did not attempt to either. To presume too much, may be a folly on its part. The least the Alpha wanted, was to misrepresent its Demi-Legio. "It is a pleasure to meet you Agate," she spoke, "Alpha of the Omega maniple, it is good to see a member of the Mechanicus apart of our meeting along with what seems almost all arms of the Imperium. Could I possibly ask more about you?Possibly about where you have served and how long have you served in the Mechanicus and what your duties among them are?If it is no trouble." For a moment,Secutarius did not knew from whence this curiosity came.Nodding more to itself then to Catherine in silent affirmation of its own findings, Agate came to a conclusion that she is curios too.Suddenly its emotions were heightened, tuned to the wish and need by a nameless and shapeless operators at the other end of phylactic communion. In it, Agate found a silent approval of invisible overlords. Looking around the room, finding truth to her words, Agate noded again, releasing her vambrace: "Indeed.Quite a gathering." looking back at her, its officer helmet a throwback to earlier age, Agate answered: "I have engaged the enemy forty two times, before I was almost destroyed.Reckognizing my efforts, I was remade into what you see before you, continuing my service for one thousand and twelve engagements, of which the last one, was my most notable for me - individually. In that last engagement I have earned this.", black-clad Alpha parted the sides of the thick trench-coat, revealing a silver half human, half cybernetic skull emblazoned in its chest war-plate. "What about you Catherine? What marks your service so far to the...Imperium?" it wanted to say 'Machine God' but was quickly corrected, unbidden words unthought of, passed through the phylactic communion and from its mouth. ~Present~ As the Warmaster and what Agate was informed of, as cadre of high-command, explained the general situation of the Crusade and the nature of the gathering, concluding it with a query to any possible questions, the gathered might have. For a moment, Agate thought that none would dare question him or demand an answer from such august number of individuals, but it seems the curiosity of the present was underestimated. However with one of the Magi physically present, Agate kept its counsel from being unspoken, knowing full well that it will be briefed on need-to-know-basis, in time.
Lilith firstly replied to Zuriel (@Keidivh ) "Unfortunately no, you are only to engage in combat if it is a necessary action such as to defend yourself from hostile action or save Imperial personnel... Or as part of a distraction. As for persons of interest, the capture of an officer from either faction is a bonus, but by no means a requirement, and the main location for the mission is a crystalline canyon which we assume to be a quiet section of the front, so while there may be some combat, don't expect to be in the thick of it." With the Guard representative glaring daggers at the late arrival of the Commissar (@DeezNuts ) , the Warmaster then addressed Praxia (@Shadhunter )"There is conflict between the two unknown factions hence the reason to scout that world to see the two at war. And yes, we may decide to aid one faction until the system is secure, then either integrate them if they're human enough or exterminate them if they are Aliens." Then Deckard (@XV-878 ) had his question answered by Lilith "Deployment will be from a Valkyrie and Thunderhawk, with your Vendetta around as support. And yes, you are all getting berths upon the Sword of Wrath because of the need to ensure that words your escapades doesn't become common knowledge. Unless it is something that can be released for the purposes of morale-boosting. As for the issue of who commands the team, you may decide among yourselves but I would recommend someone that understands stealth, and restraint to lead this operation, unless you all deem it fit to elect someone else among your number." Then there was the Imperial Fist (@ItsTime ), to which the Warmaster replied "Well, considering we have no idea if either faction can field the sort of firepower that turns Marines into Guardsmen in terms of mortality rates..." The Astartes representative glared at her, while the Guard Representative briefly smiled at that comparison, a rare acknowledgement of how vulnerable Guardsmen were on the battlefields of the now recent 42nd Millennium by someone who wasn't on the frontlines. She then carried on "It would be more prudent for the task-force to stay as one unit and focus on gathering intelligence about our potential enemies, rather than send the forces of the crusade into a meat grinder that we could have avoided and lose our task-force due to split numbers." Finally came the sister's (@Vulpas ) questions, meriting Lilith to reply "As I've told the Templar: Do not engage unless it would bring an immediate benefit to accomplishing your objectives that would involve more active. And yes, there is an armoury dedicated to your use which you can borrow equipment from. You'll find it by your new quarters aboard the Sword of Wrath."
The Ork was less then pleased at the moment. It was really trying for him not to just start choking the Inquisitor git at the table in front of all the other daft hummies. The Grey Knight looked down and got uncomfortably close to the Inquisitor. It would be hard to tell that one of the disguised Orks eyes were twitching involuntarily from sheer pent up aggression, but the 'Grey Knights' disapproval was clear as day. And then the 'Grey Knight' straightened himself up and turned around to head out the door he walked in from. Once outside the muckin 'bout room he then took out his anger on a nearby unsuspecting bulkhead. As his fists connected with said bulkheads of the ship, they bent inwards, leaving some sizable dents into the metal walls. The sound of these actions revertebrating down the ship a good way, and could be clearly heard in the room filled with gits that still haven't shut up yet. Once Sneektoof was "less enraged" he walked back toward the doors and retook his place standing beside the Inquisitor. The 'Grey Knights' arms crossed once more as he continued to just stand there like a stupid 'ummie. By this rate he'd keel over from boredom if they kept this pace up.
