    As the Vendetta came in for a look, both Deckard and his Co-Pilot would see that the battle before them looked pretty much equal, with human-like figures clad in jet-black armor that looked nothing like any known Imperial pattern of armour with the red, glowing 'eye' in the centre of the helmet while firing beam weapons that charred flesh rather explosivly, the corpses left often being covered in ash if not outright consumed by a raging fire.

    Likewise, they would get a far clear view of the appearance of the two knight-sized engines of war. The first one looked human in origin, albid far more streamlined in design with it's head slightly above the body, and multiple fins coming out at about 60 degree angles from the back of the arms and legs. Given that said fins were glowing hot, it should be obvious what they were for. It was also in the possession of arms, as in actual "Move like a human" arms. Or at least one of them, which held a weapon that faintly looked like someone took a power sword then upscaled it for a knight-sized warmachine. The other 'arm' was instead some form of weapon, which faintly resembled a Plasma weapon that was currently trying to point at the other machine.

    Then there were the obviously alien side of the fight, and they were a diverse lot indeed. Ranging from squid-like Xenos, being supported by a mass of tentacles with four arms grasping a plasma like weapon (that even for plasma, was about as subtle as a Grox in heat) as those Xenos attempt to surge forth and overwhelm the humans. Meanwhile, towards the rear laid a more amphibian type of Xenos, some of them Psykers that drew upon the Warp while others operated other machines that looked similar to Rapier gun carriers, firing pitch-black lances into the ranks of human warriors.

    Likewise, the Xenos Knight-sized looked suitably diverse, as it was insectoid from the torso down, with two claw like appendages trying to grapple with the human Knight. So far, it seemed that the match was equal, even if the Xenos knight had taken a shot to the chest from the Human Knight's arm-weapon.

    Depite all that was going on, Deckard would also managed to capture the image of a Marine bolter being fired on the side of the bridge closet to the team, among a cluster of structures hewed into the face of the Canyon which would be almost impossible to observe on the team's side of the canyon (without looking down over the edge). Evidently, there were survivors which did need the team's help.

    @High_Adept_Zeth
    Meanwhile, Agate's Omnispex would end up providing some useful information about the crystal arachnids, mainly that shooting them where legs joined to the body was their main weakspot, and that they were currently not hostile to the team yet (Barring the Ork that had just shot at them.) . Even if said arachnids were effectively immune to las weapons due to the projection that a las beam or bolt would just be refracted by the crystal that made up the arachnid.

    Likewise, some preliminary scans done by the Omnispex of the battle on the bridge would reveal that the Alien walker (species of origin unknown) was currently fairing the worse of the machines fighting, even if the machine that seemed to poses Archeotech was straining its systems in the process, with the ambient temperature around the machine rising quite quickly.

    As the Ork fired upon the unsuspecting arachnid in front of everyone, it ended up going perhaps somewhat wrongly. Firstly he missed the target outright so no damage was done to the wildlife. Secondly, the Crystal Spider went from purple to red in colouration as it charged towards the Ork and managed buried one of it's legs through the Ork's thigh, causing him a fair bit of discomfort as the Spider then attempted to bite his face off. It failed miserably on that score however, instead leaving it within Choppa range for the Ork.

    Everyone else however, would see that and the new arrival of an honest to the (Emperor/Omnissiah/Gork and Mork) Tech Priest (@Commissar_Brent ) arriving to meet the team. Given said Techpriest was on foot, it was perhaps another sign that yes, there were survivors still around. Perhaps being asked to look for them was not such a pointless task after all.

    Damnned Ork xeno was endagering the squad with all its ruckus as a spider now charged it fighting it. Turning on her vox again to talk just to the team. "Looks like the orks gotten itself in a bit of trouble think the inqusitor would be mad if we let its pet handle it alone?" Catherine asked before spotting a new comer raising her rifle she looked through the scop relieved to see the colors of a martian priest. "Looks like we have friendlys on the ground with us." Looking to the tech priest Catherine looked to question him and to see what his status was. @Commissar_Brent

    "Tech priest good to see another friendly face down on here. Are you with anyone else and where did you come from?" Catherine asked looking to the techrpiest wondering if there was any more imperials down on the planet alive.

    Ares whom was standing right by the ork had sigh'd at the Ork's aggressiveness and was least surprised when the spider dug it's leg into the greenskin's thigh, this however didn't stop him from raising his sword up to his own face and getting the sword into a thrusting position, a medieval technique used from the start to dawn of time- Ares soon took a singular step forwards for moment while thrusting his power sword directly into the spider's direction.

    The battle-data of an entire battlefield was being summarized by the magnificent workings of Agate`s advanced optics built-into its Alpha helmet.Just as the every projectile fired, every slash of a blade, every shout and every death was being collated to it and displayed as a blessed sermon of cascading information to its brain, the Ork started the ruckus again, and a weapon discharge was detected.

    A weapon discharge that may have been detected by others.

    Broken from its reverie, (for even observing live data was sacred work), Agate turned, the servos in its enhanced exo-skeleton protesting such jerking motion.Lord Ares, an Imperial Fists officer was already aiding the greenskin in putting down the offending native that the Ork aggravated, thus Agate remained where it is.

    ( @Commissar_Brent )
    Noting the arrival of a survivor (and probably the entire fleet though the Secutarius), with a reflexive blink-click Agate saw before it not only an emerging Techpriest, but also a golden corona of light.Within the light, what would be small rays of sunshine, was actually ever-changing string of runes, cast in all direction.Reading such data, freely given, was a blessing in itself.Noting its lowly stature, yet much blessings and an Omnissian weapon, which was a sure-fire proof of favor by a higher-ranked Techpriest, no matter what Forge World you hailed from, Agate sent a signal-thought through the noosphere, saluting the Techpriest before it with a cursory greeting, their global positioning data, their mission protocols as well as crew manifest and unit designations.

    If the signal were to be accepted, it would open up even more information:
    Are you hurt, unit Rho-238 Celtos?

    However content-dense, such transmission of data lasts but a heartbeat in the noosphere and finished, Agate opened the squad-vox:

    ++Agate here.I don't know what Deckard`s findings are, but the battlescape wont stay deadlocked forever.My thermal imaging shows that the arachnid (Alien) walker-machine might go critical any moment.I suggest we move, as outlined by Lord Danse`s plan.(@Starcaller ) "++

    Several of the Enginseer's optical nodes rotated with whirrs and clicks as they adjusted themselves, taking in the situation around him as well as the nature of the individual addressing him. Female, armed - wearing power armour - and decorated with symbols that his organic cogigator understood to be sacred to servants of the Emperor. Age-wise, she appeared older than one might expect a Noviciate to be, therefore the most logical conclusion would be...

    "I greet you, Sister Superior." Having fulfilled the mandatory social parameters of a friendly introduction, he took a moment to review the data flow of the Noosphere, simply staring at the woman while he did so, a pair of mechadendentries snaking out from his robes to probe the immediate area around him in thought. He registered an incoming stream of data from what appeared to be a Secutarii Hoplite - the armament and augmentation was known to him, although it had been a long time since he had witnessed any warrior save for one clad in Flak Armour and using a Lasgun or some other form of technology beyond their comprehension... And how they complained. "My Plasma Gun won't fire." "This Chimera I decided to modify all by myself is reporting engine faults."

    @High_Adept_Zeth
    Realising that the thoughts had been transmitted in an unfiltered manner, he swiftly corrected the error and offered the blessed Martian warrior a better reply. I am operational and functional, Alpha-I Agate. And pleased, to have located another of the enlightened. How fares your wargear thus far?

    @Vulpas
    All of this took him several moments, tilting his head lightly as he then recalled the Sister Superior's previous inquiry. "That is an approximate understanding - I can confirm that I last saw a unit of Astra Militarum soldiers deploy Grav-Chutes from a Valkyrie aircraft - my charge, sadly deceased, may the Omnissiah embrace its spirit and repurpose as he sees fit - 5 days, 21 hours and 13 minutes ago. Contact with further humans, I am unable to report, save for the immediate moment."

    Taking a moment to inhale, his bionic respirator-unit whining audibly, he continued to speak with an almost-monotone but not entirely unpleasant mechanical 'chant'. "I noted weapons discharge, and hostilities, but these stimuli seem to have been responded to. I can detect a member of the species Veridi Giganticus in the vicinity, as well as an unknown indigenous vertebrate arachnid. How may I assist the Emperor this day?" The tech-priest spread his mechadendrites wide in a gesture of offering, his other arms remaining perfectly still - one clutching the wrench-axe while the other hung loosely at his side.
  6. Sneektoof completely missed the stupid spider that now dug one of it's stupid legs into his thigh. And that wasn't what was completely angering him at the moment. His entire plan of getting the hummies to start moving out ended up being nothing more then an embarrassing disaster, as yet ANOTHER ZOGGIN HUMMIE came out of no where to greet them. This seems to have distracted everyone from fighting spiders to sitting around, talking, and mucking about.

    The exact opposite of what he was going for.

    While contemplating whether or not he was cursed by Gork (and/or Mork) for something he did, he nonchalantly looked at the spider that was trying to eat his face and also failing spectacularly at what they were trying to do to. "Well aint'z you'z juzt adoor'abill" he muttered to the spider, "if i'z had da r'oight geer, I'z wulda put a leash on ya'z (an' ave you'z eat dese zoggin hummies al'redee)...oh well, sor'ee bout dis mate" He then took out his stabbin' knoif and would try hacking away at it till it was good and zogged. However he paused. The fact that Sneektoof could have related with the frustrations of a stupid shiny rock spider was rather disconcerting, but it was the only thing he came across so far on this whole zoggin planet that truly understood him. And then after he'd kill it, he'd be alone again.

    "Aww...Zog it, c'mere ya Kraz'ee bunch of nashin teef" he then spun his knife around to start hitting it with the hilt instead of the stabby bit, "I'z need ya to STOP TRYIN TA ZOGGIN BITE ME AL'REDEE!" Seeing one of the hummies trying to stab at the spider for him made him swing the knife around to collide with the gits Stabbin weapon. (@ItsTime ) "SOD OFF YOU STOOPID GIT! DIS WUNZ MINE!" he'd growl, keeping the shiny spider at arms length and away from the stab happy Space Marine. "Now you'z need ya KALM DA ZOG DOWN!" he continued shouting at the spider.

    Satisfied with their view of the battlefield, Deckard pulls the Vendetta upwards again into the veil of cloud cover. He frowned at what he had seen of the intense and alien spectacle of the combat. This did not seem to be a safe system to be trapped within.

    He opened the long-range vox communication system once more and broadcast back to the squad.

    "This is Lieutenant Lucus. We got a good visual of the battlefield, and the objective. I recommend steering well clear of the engagement on the bridge. The combatants on both sides seem to possess a large abundance of advanced weaponry, possibly plasma and melta based. The combatants on one side are definitely xenos. The combatants on the other side appear human, but I can't confirm, and either way they don't look the welcoming type. The walkers are unlike anything I've seen, some appear to be organic, the others mechanical but far from Mechanicus issue."

    The comms channel clicks off briefly.

    "Fortunately, I think I've spotted the stranded scout team. They're on the side of the canyon closest to you, but taking shelter within structures built into the canyon wall, over the edge. I can't see a clear way down, but that's where you need to advance towards and investigate. The fighting is intense enough that you might avoid notice. Either way, again, I'd recommend not engaging them."

    "Lucus out. We'll circle and await further orders."

    OOC: Message to the whole squad.

    When the spider attacked the ork Erika didn't try to defend the xeno. She watched and hoped the spider would be the end of Sneektoof, but alas no.
    Erika was glad this wasn't a full on offensive mission as she listened to Lucus' report. Battle machines such as that were nasty enough and with this group there were a lot of unknowns in the air still.
    One thing the ork was right about, they'd need to get moving now and she wanted the ork out of her sight.

    "I'm going a bit ahead already, you're welcome to join me."
    She voiced into the vox for all to hear.
    Erika started towards the scouts reported, scouting the paths ahead careful not to aggravate local wildlife. Enough standing around.

    It didn't take long at all for Lianna to jog on ahead to join the woman, dropping off her bag of grenades and the mortar to do so; anything to be away from that... Group.
    A foul taste was in her mouth at seeing how an Astartes, yet again, yanked control away and saw themselves as more appropriate for the task at hand; her grip on the hellgun squeezing a bit more than usual.

    "Copy that, Luke. Don't get shot up there, I don't think we have a mattress big enough for a landing pad." She said through the Vox, at least knowing he was able to be relied on for teamwork.
    "What's your armament? Hypothetical question; in case you're tackled by orks, or a Warhound titan or something starts shooting at you. Anything you have on that Beauty to help stay alive?"

    Rho-238 picked up the vox-chatter through his augments and began to calibrate his mouthpiece to address the correct frequency, turning away from the Retributor Superior to observe the two Guardswomen heading off. Deciding that it was time to contribute, he strode after them, his martian power-armour offering him a slightly wider gait so that he might hope to catch up.

    "Please wait. I shall follow and assist - the concealed individuals' weapons may require maintenance, additionally, they may be the Astra Militarum personnel whom dropped from the aircraft I was assigned to. It would assure me to learn that they had survived."

    His mechadendrites coiled behind him, dragging along like the tentacles of a squid gliding through water, robes billowing lightly with the wind. "I apologise however that I have little to add to a firefight save for a macro-stubber... Perhaps not ideally suited to accompany your laser weaponry in terms of distance or accuracy. Configuring cognitive armament assistance..."
