    As Lianna finishes her speech, the voice of Deckard crackles out once more through the squad vox-beads.

    "Loud and clear. That sounds like a plan to me. We'll circle around, make our descent, and then report back."

    The vox falls silent for a moment, before he sounds a final comment.

    "Pray to the Emperor they don't have anti-air."

    He closes the Vendetta's vox communication channel, and began issuing commands to his co-pilot in curt Navy operating lingo. The Vendetta begins a broad bank around, adjusting its heading back towards the area with the canyon bridge and the squad's deployment zone. Its nose then inclines downwards, pushing it into the cover of pink cloud and through into the open airspace below, before levelling out a few hundred feet below the threshold of cloud cover.

    A broad vista of the alien world below opens up before the eyes of Deckard and his co-pilot, with the engagement on the bridge taking center-piece a couple miles ahead. Taking the controls, Deckard instructs his co-pilot to use his personal pict-recorder to take some reconnaissance picts.

    Meanwhile, Deckard studies the view below for pertinent information to relay back to the squad. (@Maleth)

    The woman merely chuckled into the comm channel with his, shrugging her shoulders. "Oh don't worry; the glorious trees clearly would be a cushion for landing." She said with one part sarcasm, two parts humour.

    To say Danse was mad about the ork would be a significant understatement. He had fought this alien species a hundred times before and none of them had been anything more than giant green monsters that wanted to kill anything and everything they saw. They were a scourge, a green tide of violence in the galaxy and they had no right to exist. At least the traitor and the heretic fought for something they believed in, blasphemous as it may be. They at least had their twisted gods and their infernal shrines and sites and relics that, while completely unholy, were sacred to them. Nothing was sacred to the orks, and they had no right to exist.

    But he held his tongue, and his trigger finger. The inquisitor had assigned the ork to the squad for a reason and that reason was not for Danse to question. He may be second in command of his company and the carrier of its spirit and culture, but today he was just a soldier, a weapon of the Emperor. He would do his part without complaint, no matter how much he disliked it. The others bickered and argued and the penitent engine almost tried to kill the ork but no blood had been spilled. That was surprising in itself but what was more surprising was that Lianna took charge of the squad, instructing everyone to get ready to move and for the larger and more heavily armored squad members to stay back and wait for their lighter comrades and Deckard in the sky to get some recon done. This was the second time Lianna had impressed Danse today, the first being in the armory for her lack of fear to him. The only reason he had not praised her was that she also showed him a lack of respect and while he wasn't insulted it was still rude and shouldn't be encouraged. When things had quieted down he stepped forward so the squad could see him, putting his back against one of the large pink crystals on this strange, fascinating planet.

    "Before we move out Lianna I want to say I'm proud of you." He had turned to face her. "You've just shown a great deal of both initiative and courage in getting this squad's attention. You have my respect, and my attention. However, I have more command experience than you and likely most of the squad. I suggest you let me take charge."

    He turned back to the squad. "Listen up everyone: If we're gong to be effective we need to split up into two fireteams. One scouting force and one rapid reaction force. I suggest Lianna lead the scouting force and that Erika and you Agate (@Wata, @Vlayden @High_Adept_Zeth ) go with her. You've got the scanning equipment to spot the enemy, the firepower to conduct a first strike and most importantly the size to take maximum advantage of both cover and concealment."

    He pointed to a split mass of crystals in the distance that formed a sort of canyon. "The rest of us will set up a fallback position there. That's where you will run if you are attacked. We will take cover behind those crystals and fire on the enemy while Brother Zuriel, Praxia and you sister (@Casavay , @Shadhunter , @Keidivh ) Will engage the enemy in close assault after we establish our base of fire. If all goes well we will not be needed and if the scout team or Deckard gives us a good report we will move out and exploit it. Any questions or suggestions?"

    @Shadhunter
    "Respect is the only way to truly lead. To inspire. Do not think yourself incapable of such a thing Sister. Penitent or not." Zuriel wouldn't force the issue, but he believed Praxia to be capable of much more than she let on. She was a Penitent, it was true. But she was a faithful warrior, and truly a wise counselor. He couldn't only hope he could help her to see that if she didn't already. "Regardless, you have my respect, for what that is worth."

    @Casavay
    "You are right in that the beast must be purged. It's very presence is revolting. But the Inquisition employs strange methods in its missions. Even as extreme as this, and outright killing the overgrown fungus may irk the good Inquisitior. As amusing as that sounds, it will cause only more issues for us, and more importantly our mission. The beast will live. For now."

    @Wata
    "I am truly sorry for the losses you have suffered Erika, but do not think that their deaths are worth nothing. You are the Sledgehammer of the Emperor. While we may fight on a few hundred front, the Militarum fights tens of thousands. We each have our part to play in the service of the almighty Emperor of Man. Do not think that he looks upon you any different than he does me." In truth, Zuriel could relate to the Guardswomans pain. His duties after all were to hold his dying brethren in his arms, to guide their souls into the Emperors domain, and if necessary, provide the Emperors Peace. It was a terrible burden, one he bore proudly. But it took its toll.

    @Vlayden
    Zuriel was pleasantly surprised to hear the harsh voice of the Kasrkin break out over the vox, demanding everyone focus up and prepare for the operation. With an almost condescending tone towards the Astartes and Sisters. It brought a smile to the old Astartes weathered face. She was clearly experienced in the realm of leadership as well, but the fact that there were potentially so many strong personalities was concerning and he could see where that could lead. He wouldn't try and wrestle control of the task force, but he would be sure to guide them as best he could.

    Approaching the young Kasrkin, the Sanguinary Priest put his fist over his chest before bowing his head. "As you say my lady, I'll ensure not to become to overzealous." He stated with a light laugh. "Don't worry Cadian, we may be large, but we know how to perform special operations."

    @Starcaller
    Upon hearing Danse interject, Zuriel could see him taking command of the task force. As a veteran sergeant he had the proper experience to lead a force even as diverse as this. But only if he could be considerate of his fellows. Judging by his fellows attitudes it seemed clear they wouldn't submit to authority they didn't respect. It would be a challenge. But he was always there to offer his aid.

    "A fine plan Brother Danse, though I'd rather it not come to such a point. If we engage these forces in blatant combat our mission will fall apart quickly. We should engage only if there is no other option. With the Primarchs guidance we will be successful and learn who these powers are."
  5. "Fer da luv ov Gork (an' Mork), you'z gitz juz dont'z stop flappin' yur gobz now do'z ya?!" Sneektoof shouted to the group, getting quite irritated at the hummies inaction and most importantly, the lack of a fight. He stomped on over to the Space Mahreen (@Starcaller) that was getting all the smaller gitz attention. "Ya! I'z gotz a suggez...suhgezt...sumfing ta say! You'z 'ummiez talk to much! I sez dere shuld be less yap, yap, yap, an mor Krush! Stomp! Kill!" Sneektoof would probably never understand hummies. First they have a runty git as a Warboss, when there were other hummies clearly larger then her. And now when a runtier git try's to take control, they get praised. If an Ork boy tried to call the shots like that they'd get krumped by the closest Nob near them for even trying. This is probably why hummies are so stupid. No one knows who's in command, and they're too busy talking about how to do something then just going out there and doing it.

    He looked over at the runty one (@Vlayden ) that first started yelling through the hummie talkin box. He'd be damned if he was going to let some Gretchin git like this one tell him what to do. But he didn't think they were even worth krumpin. He'd probably end up stomping on the Grot on accident anyway. He grunted and turned his attention toward one of the Marines that was a bit more vocal about killing him (@Keidivh ). "If you'z so eegah ta die beakie boy by all meenz, kome an av a go. Yur'z 'ead wuld make a noice trofee space mahreen. Don't'z go gettin it blown off befor I'z kan kollekt" he blew Squigar smoke toward the hummie and had himself a chuckle.

    "I assure you creature, if by some miracle you survive, I will gladly cleave your misshapen head from your body and purify it in flame. I'm sure you'll enjoy it." The Astartes sneered at the Greenskin, the fact that it had the gall to even speak to him enraging him to no end, the Thirst demanding he right this wrong in a tide of blood. But for now reason would prevail.

    "But fortunately for you I have other things on my mind. Bigger fights. You want to have big fight you dullard? Want to kill? Then for now be silent! Blow our cover and you will lose your chance to have some of the most bloody fights of your life. And you won't get the honor to die at my glaive. Now wouldn't that be a shame?" If having to tolerate the Orks presence wasn't enough, trying to get it not to blow their cover was ridiculous. Maybe he would just kill it now? Honestly, it wasn't like anyone here would mind.

  7. "HAR HAR HA! You'z a mouth'ee wun aint'z ya!" Sneektoof had a hearty chuckle at the Space Marine (@Keidivh ) that started mouthing off to him. If he was alone right now, if all of these damn other hummies around. He'd have tore this poncy hummie apart with his bare hands. But he wouldn't have been able to collect his trophy now with all these other gits around. They'd get all mad and try to stop him, and he didn't need any of that right now. "I'z kan wait fer da bettah fightz you stoopid grot. Why'z you'z fink I'z 'avent run off yet an' why'z you'z still breathin' r'oight now? But dont'z get'z me wrong ya poncy git, I'z lookin forwurd ta addin yur skull ta da kollektzun, Heh ha ha"

    "Ar we dun muckin 'bout yet?!? Kan we'z start gettin dis zoggin boorin job out ov da wayz or wut?!?" He grumbled angrily to the group of gitz he found himself trapped with.

    Ares sigh'd at the ork's eagerness to find meaningless battle, he prayed that the xeno would perish first, however that was unlike granted guardsmen were present there- Regardless, Ares approached Sneektoof, towering above him as he spoke, "Calm yourself, we are yet to find a leader to this most sudden strike force and we shant move until one is decided upon. However- if it is fighting you urge to seek then be my guest, run off towards the bridge and be the first to die."

    @Starcaller @Keidivh @Colapse

    Ares proceeded to turn to the rest of the group, speaking specifically to the Adeptus Astartes amongst them, "Brothers, it should be one of us who becomes the leader of this band, for we are more experienced and have seen combat like no other in this group. For we killed the heretic, we purged the xeno and we banished those of the Archenemy's own flesh! What more could we offer if not our heroic guidance?".
  9. Sneektoof looked toward the yellow Space Marine ( @ItsTime ) that thought himself as bigger then he was. He probably would have proven just how wrong he is, but he didn't need a bunch of angry hummies ganging up on him. So for the time being, the Kommando took the nearly done Squigar out of his mouth and flicked it toward the Marine as he glared at him, the Squigar harmlessly bounced off the chest plate of his power armor. The Ork Nob then bumped past the Marine and took a look around him. Just shiny rocks, he didn't get what was the big deal about this place. He was getting pretty zoggin fed up with insufferable irritable hummies and no fighting, and he only just started this job. As such he decided to take his greviences with his employer.

    Sneektoof called up the Inquisitor on the comm bead he was given previously and waited for this "Warboss" to pick up. As soon as she did Sneektoof went berserk, "YOU ZOGGIN GRETCHIN GIT! I'Z OTAH RIP YA BLUDD'EE 'EAD OFF AN UZE IT FER GROTBALL!...YUR 'UMMIES AR AZ DAFT AZ BRAIN DED SQUIGZ!" The irritated Kommando took a look at the environment as he grumbled and continued shouting through the comm, "Get Moovin? DESE GITZ DONTZ EVIN KNO WHOOZE IN CHARGE ERE!!! IZ GUNNA KNOCK DERE EADZ TOGETHA IF DEYZ KEEP DIS UP!" What he heard over the comms next made him look for something more specific in the environment, and he saw exactly what he was looking for. He raised his KombiShootah...and then he thought against it.

    "Derez al'redee a fight goin' on betweenz sum 'ummies an...wutevah doze gitz iz! And deyz still juzt Mukkin 'bout!" He shouted into the comms again, "Derez evin sum big stompy fingz too, AND DEYZ STILL JUZT STANDIN 'ROUND!" Sneektoof was moments from pulling out another Squigar, but if he kept this rate up he'd be out of them in minutes "Dey wontz know dat if deyz dontz try shootin' it!" Sneektoof raised his KombiShootah again toward his original target. "Al'redee on dat..." he said before pulling the trigger and spraying Dakka toward some unsuspecting wildlife, "Dis ottah get dem moovin!"

    Ferra wanted to tackle the Kasrkin and shatter her skull with her fists, but luckily, she had become quite proficient at simmering with the fury of a thousand suns and not breaking out in violent episodes. Certainly, the woman could not hide her swiftly spawned, unbridled hatred (maybe it was subsumed by the general offense caused by the Ork), but she had her firey soul in a tight enough grip to simply stand there, among this 'squad' of 'loyalists', and say nothing.

    Instead, she prepared mentally for the frontal assault, quietly praying.
