I cant hear those Bullshit anymore. THIS IS A GOD DAMN ALPHA!!! Believe it or not. Not more and not less. Let them do their work. If you dont like it? Then leave.......it sucks already.
This statement proves you have absolutely no idea of how programming works. Have you noticed the difference between the way the factions move? Did you know that these movements have to be "animated" by someone who connects thousands of tiny dots to points on a character model? Did you know they do this for every single model in the game? Did you know a single typo can cause a code to fail? Did you know adding new content almost always breaks the code you've already written and you have to find the new error to fix it? Did you know adding a sound file can break an animation? Did you know that error might be due to different technologies communicating and that even if the code syntax is perfect it's simply not written to perform it's function? There are completely valid reasons to criticize this games production, but if you're going to run your mouth and toss out accusations know what the fuck you're talking about. Don't be the uninformed douche bag that says "It's just a "X", how hard can it be to make?"
I don't know if anyone has realized this, but, for this game, a "release" is just semantics. Nathan has said that release is "just another day" and the development will keep going, possibly for years. Quote: So, since the game will be in perpetual development, the excuse "it's just alpha!" does not really hold water. I mean it wouldn't hold anyway, but this is just an extra reason. What will you say after the "release date" has passed? It's "just version 1.0"? After that "it's just version 1.1"? Will we be ever allowed to criticize? Since the game will never truly be "finished", that means we can never criticize, which is retarded.
First major diversion was when Miguel left. The second major diversion was around May. In May, it became clear that the scope is further reduced, which is why some people were not surprised with Brent's recent interview. We saw the writing on the wall. I mean, I am disappointed too, but at least they told us about it. You can say what you want about the team but at least they communicate.
Ugh, I know. I made this shitty little game once where you're a sparkly tree (cause particle effects?) that ran around shooting fireballs at multi-coloured orbs, coding is the absolute worst.
as another member has stated you are free to criticize but it depends on what you criticize.... the original poster complained that it wasn't alpha just because the team is working on other things than the core game (which another poster stated that there is reasons why they would do both right now). the only viable complaint was that the game upon release and for who knows how long after, will be a watered down version of the promised game...... which while viable, is old news. If you want to say F' this game because of it, i would say that's pretty reasonable, personally i've never been too invested to begin with since i'm not really a shooter fan.
Well if thats what you think. Oh, and let me clarifiy that I meant valuable to consumers, not the devs.
