I think they should get credits for assisting caps and squad play. Planetside 2 does this well, even if you flying or in a vehicle you get credit for capping a point if you are in the area and actively damage an enemy heal or resupply a friendly or many other ways with out having 50+ people trying to squeeze into one room. What about the people outside the base preventing armor from steamrolling spawn points or the guys on the roof performing anti-air duties?
It is hard to reward players who are helping away from the capture point. In SM the biggest help is players pinning down choke points not clumping on the point and begging for a PC blast. Id say that's just something we have to live with since its too easy to exploit otherwise. edit and i really hope to see big enough guilds for whole squads of specialists. Even just 2 groups of 3 guys. 2 tacs with a wizzard, and 2 devs with a wizzard
There's only one 'sniper' class, and it belongs to the most atypical faction as far as role distribution goes. Plus it's an Elite, so it costs RP rather than earning it. I don't expect this to be a huge issue.
Is there actually exp points for capping? I've only seen it for kills downing and executions in the twitch (not that i've been looking for it at base captures)
