Please, remove the respawning from transports.

Discussion in 'General Discussion' started by NeonWeaver, Oct 1, 2016.

  1. Spawning off transports kinda made sense when we were going for the whole Planetside style thing a la Sunderer but without that, if things got reworked I don't think forcing transports to be used solely as... transports would be a bad idea at all.

The only problem with that is that Fire Dragons are basically tacticals that can't cap, so maybe eldars should need some rebalance then.

But, but...I'm not really asking to remove the respawning from transports.
Whay I'm asking is to fill the transports with some dudes before arrive to points instead to just rush with a driver and left it as respawn point.

People does A) (pick transport -> rush to point -> left vehicle -> some people spawns from it -> a melta destroy it)

But with the actual meta, would be much better to do B) (pick transport -> fill it with people -respawning to it or waiting a bit- then rush with it to point -> everybody left the vehicle -> some people respawns from it -> a melta destroys it)

With A) meltas are a huge problem, but with B) they're not so much, so why instead of complain about meltas, we don't do like B)?.

I don't understand why this will screw orks, really.
  3. I think the main reason why transports are used as stationary spawning stations is you have no incentive to drive them around keeping them alive. this is because you aren't awarded points by driving around, so why would you lose not only cap points/kills but exp/everything?

My suggestion with this in mind would be for the driver of the transport was given some points for people spawning in the vehicle while they are driving it.

that would give me personally the incentive to keep driving my transport around and not allowing it to be blown by meltas (which against moving vehicles do nothing really)

EDIT: while rolling with me boyz in da guild, I've chosen to be the hero and just keep circling the base and dropping off the lads, my points stagnate though and I miss out on exp/leveling

  4. Some maps are clearly entirely designed around attackers using vehicles as support points. If you remove this from the game then some scenarios will have to be rebuilt from the scratch.
Imho vehicle respawn should remain and the vehicles trunk should be changed to a loadout station.

What should instead be changed is redeploy: that should have a long respawn time so that players just use it when they get stuck somewhere, not to resecure points on the other side of the map.

But i'm not asking to remove the respawn from vehicles...it's in bold! in the second paragraph!... I even did a comic about what I'm talking about XD

Shorten transport respawn timer, but give each transport limited tickets to respawn.

Maybe twenty tickets per transport. So a full squad of 10 can spawn twice.

Shortened timer on vehicles also means melta loadout actually has something to do every now and then instead of a niche pick only when there are vehicles then switch back to other loadouts.

Gimme some exp for dropping off troops some way to repair and possibly a land raider and ill drive a tank for the entire round. Otherwise it would be a dull thankless chore.

Due to ork stats they have to zerg non stop for their offensive. The first transport of the match is fine to wait with but waiting later gives the opponent too much time to setup a defense that becomes really difficult to crack.

Plus seeing as our vehicles are also the easiest to destroy due to less durability there is a pretty good chance that transport could be exploded before it gets to a point while still carrying its ork payload.

It just doesn't payoff usually to try and fill up the trukk before leaving.

    Definitely no to this.
