Please, remove the respawning from transports.

    Maybe this way people will start using the transports as transports instead of using them as mobile respawning points and asking for melta nerfs because the vehicles are melted fast when used this way.

    Yep, it's not a good idea, and should not be done* and probably this thread will be closed (I'm really sorry, mods), but I'm a bit tired about so many threads asking for melta nerfs while nobody (sorry, premades and some chaos players do it) is using the transports as they should to be used: to transport people INSIDE them.

    Of course that meltas are melting them in seconds... because if a transport with a full squad (or two, 10 people can go inside!) moves to a point and deploys them, it becomes much more useful, and the defenders, if they know what are they doing, should to melt it ASAP before the deployed squad starts respawning from it.
    A vehicle lifespan as deploying point should be short, per balance reasons.

    If after deploying your squad and respawning sometimes, you haven't been able to cap a point, then the defenders have done a "better" job than you.

    *Why I don't agree with the title of my topic?
    Because there are 2 "broken" things right now with the defenders:
    - the respawning positions of the defenders, as they should not respawn inside the same room where is the point to defend, as you are forcing the attackers to kill many times the same players.
    - the redeploy option, that lets defenders to move fast in zerg to defend a point instead of using the tansports as the attackers must to do.

    If those 2 things weren't working as they do, the "redeploying" from vehicles will not be even necessary.

    Note: I don't want that vehicles loses their respawn mode option, really. The thread title is only a sarcastic way of protest :). I'm, just trying to change the people's perception of a problem: what if the meltas are not the problem, and instead the real problem is the obssession of moving empty transports just to use them as respawn instead of filling them with people before?

    Forgive us, even the most ancient and self disciplined race can descent into complete madness.

    That ONLY thing that need a change here is, driver should get 50 exp every time someone spawns on rhino while driver is inside.

    If you remove vehicle spawning, the attackers are kinda boned and the whole point of vehicle control just disappears.

    I see what you're getting at, but once a squad has used the transport to move up to a point, and left the transport, what else are they going to do with the transport? If they can't spawn from it, then they're all the way back at the spawn point, with no transport. Their transport is back at the point, unguarded and useless.

    I don't think it's the melta per say, it's more the melta bomb. Sick of seeing suiciders beeline to transports, and I can't kill them fast enough to stop the bomb.

    Maybe if they made it so if you shoot the bomb it only does half damage?

    I can see OP's logic, as hyperbolic as it is, because I just came from a series of games where my TeamSpeak clan would load up ten to a Rhino and absolutely devastate the defenders. But nobody, NOBODY who isn't using premade teams w/ voice chat is going to see that

    I hope that someone reads what I have wrote instead of just the header... (sorry, It sounds more salty that I am).

    I'm Ok with the vehicles used as respawn (it's what I say in my second paragraph), what I'm not OK is with the reasons of "nerf meltas" when probably people is not using the vehicles as they should to be used. ó_o.

    The title was just sarcastic, a parody of all the "nerf meltas!" and similar.
  9. No, don't remove it. A change I think they do need to make however, to stop people from spawning while the vehicle is driving around, is to take a note from Planetside's book. In Planetside(The original one, not PS2), you can't spawn in the Mobile Stations until they're "Deployed" which is a state you have to manually activate.

    While deployed, the vehicle is anchored to the ground and can't move until undeployed. However, while deployed, teammates can spawn on them. I think this would be a better solution to the entire issue.

    I get you. I was driving around maggon A for 5 minutes before squad recapped it while other squads were defending B against light force of attackers. They tried to plasma me, they tried to melta me, they tried to lascannon my ass, I kept driving and shitting squad members all over the place.

    More people would do it if there was a reward for it, and there SHOULD be a reward for it, because its incredibly important part of gameplay, yet completely neglected one.
