I'm fine with rolling, as long as there's some sort of system in place where you're not just endlessly rolling like you could in THQ's Space Marine. I'll second the thought on wanting to see dashing laterally or side stepping, as well as a back step. Dark Souls 2 handled this quite well, and you couldn't just endless dash or side step.
First thing flashed in my slaaneshi mind after seeing the thread's subject: "damn it, why, why not, what if I'm hungry in combat? Two combat rolls with eel and one combat sushi with tuna! And more combat wasabi please."I love combat wasabi, you know Well, if seriously, I hope to see (I would insist on that if my voice counts) realistic objects interaction and physics alongside with realistic look of models and all in-game assets. So, no somersaulting/jumping terminators and SMs for sure, though SM in power armour should swing and duck quite easily, I think.
I think the assault marines with jet packs, should have a dodge like their standing and kind of move a bit to the right or left, no somersaults or other things because they got those big jump packs on. For regular marines, im pretty sure they can combat roll and all that since their armor is supposed to offer close to the same movement with it as without it. "close" but not identical. It is a fine line.
The point i made is that just because it is a Game set in a Fictional universe does not mean that it doesnt have it's own laws of physics and realisms, every universe has things that can and cannot happen (otherwise it is just a jumble of absurdity)
Yeah, please no dodge rolls. Jumping is fine, side step jumps are fine too. But no last min dodging of 3m out of no where please.
I personally have a bigger problem with everybody running around all the time. I hate that and I will not do it. I will walk by default. Space Marines in my imagination move with weight and dignity. That is not to say that they can`t run and move fast when the time comes. I will do that of course if need be. But I have chosen to move with slow, unstoppable determination and not like a marathon geek with a pack of bees up his behind.
