The Squad Leader Situation is terrible. Throwing people that are just learning the game in the SL spot randomly, is doing everyone a disservice. However, since there does not seem to be any desire to change the current...system? I guess, can you please, when you realize that you are the SL just mark the point you want the squad to fight at? This gives everyone more XP, and will generally reduce the desire to murder the SL by quite a lot. That's it, just hover your sights over the point you want to mark, press the Q (by default) key on your keyboard and boom, done. When the point is taken, select another. It is really that simple. Thank you in advance.
Make the Choice to be squadleader dependend on who got the highest level, and under those randomly? BAM! Problem solved
I disagree. One of my squad leaders this morning was an elite class and had no clue *why* we wanted him to ping (mark) the point we were fighting over, and even after we explained it, he still refused to do it. So we left and made our own squad, and now we have 4 squads, not coordinating and under-strengthed which further reduced our ability to do what needed to be done. No, random, with any qualification is not a good idea. I do like the vote them out idea, or somewhere you can volunteer to be the SL as I suspect that most of these guys and girls are in fact new players and have no idea that they are the SL. I don't fault them for their ignorance, it is not very apparent when you have been put in that position. People are getting upset about this, and I know there are a million issues and like 2 people to deal with them, but I think I would put this on the short list of things to fix. That and nerfing the Eldar.
The chance that someone who is more experianced knows what to do is higher then giving SL to a noob who doesn't even know how to chat or to read, don't you think? Of course you will have those potatoes that still don't know what to do, but the chances are slimmer, in my opinion
a squad leader that does not issue orders is not a squad leader ergo whenever a total amount of time passes without new or renewed orders from a squad leader someone else should become the new squad leader when you are squad leader and it's passing too much time from the last order you should get a notification like when you're about to get removed from the game for inactivity, except you're being lifted from the role of squad leader simple enough?
Squad leader should be a choice a player makes, not automatically divided up. A lot of other games do this successfully and it would only require 1 more button to squad ui....like this. I have solved the entire problem with addition of a button we actually needed that would take half a day to implement and test. @NoahWard
Hm, haven't had much time lately to play to see it myself, but 3 solutions comes into my mind: a.) F2P-Players can not be squad leader (simple and another restriction for F2P) or b.) introduce an advancement tree called "Leadership" where you actually have to give orders to gain points to spend into it (work for BHVR) or c.) a combination of A and B. I would go with A for the moment, because it is doable at the known situation of BHVR.
