Nothing says: "Sir, i'd like to let you know that i feel like the way laid down before me, may be more of a tactical advantage, then the one you laid thine eyes upon" then Dakka to the back Well... if you change your FoV settings, you might see more then your enemy does, and thus it could be counted as cheating. Asheru ain't wrong here. But on the other hand, do they really want to ban the last 10 or 20 people playing orks for them...?
no they just need to set the bullet's point of origin higher.. it doesn't necessarily need to come from the same height as the gun is .. hell most fps games have the camera in the upper body of the model with the point of origin of the bullets somewhere around hearth where the middle of your screen would be. there is no reason they cant take the same approach here and just move the PoO up a bid so orks can shoot over cover.
GameUserSettings doesn't have FOV stuff, just graphical stuff. Basically all the stuff in the menu, and a little extra, and a bit more control over all of it. That works for FPS, not third person shooters.
yes it does.. currently PoO is set i at weapon hight on the models , change it to be higher for orks , or from their head for all i care,. that's all you need , you do realise that the graphics from the bullets are just that right .. graphics they ain't really wats doing the damage the hit scan does that .. the graphics PoO doesn't have to be the same as the Hit Scans PoO they use the model as a PoO for the hitscan because of the 3rd person view because it would be weird if stuff came from the middle of your screen when you're around a corner and such .. But that doesn't mean they can't move it around on the actual model to improve things.
There was this time that I kept asking an apo for health but he kept running around ignoring me, so I shot him till his health was low and stood in front of him while he used the vial. "I'LL MAKE YOU HEAL MEEE! "
From what I've been able to tell, the players that have been leaving have been leaving because of the disadvantage in melee due to bugs and the like and seeming neglect, but my issue with melee isnt that I'm at a stark disadvantage (I'm a shoota main, so I don't give as much of a shit). My issue is that the hipfire with the shoota is terrible enough (I can manage the recoil so it doesnt bother me) that the go-to option to beat a shoota is to sprint at them and spam RMB. Even if you manage to stun them, by the time your animation ends, you get almost no time to capitalize on the opening. Point is, while the shoota boy is pretty decent for his durability and volume of dakka, the shoota could use less SIPS so that engaging Orks in close quarters is more of a risk and trying to melee cheese a shoota boy as tactical or apothecary is less viable and to give orks a slightly bigger edge against eldar who engage them at close range, and the Dbash could do well with a shorter recovery after you perform the stun so that you have another second (two if their reaction time is bad) to punish them for screwing up. Their reliable counters should exclusively be long range, vehicles, and shieldbro/JPAs. NOT tactical and apothecary melee cheesing. I don't mind dying to assaults and weapons used beyond my effective range. I mind dying in melee against tacticals and apothecaries that I saw coming, successfully predicted their melee and stunned them, and then not get to kill them because of a slow animation recovery that robs me of half the stun duration.
