At least their loot boxes don't offer actual gameplay advantages that someone who hasn't found that particular item cannot match. You could entirely ignore lootboxes in Overwatch and the game itself would still play exactly the same.
The Ork campaign was awhile ago sir, and it did what all the campaigns were DESIGNED to do: create an incentive to have new players try out other factions. Did it work? Yes it did. Do you see any of those players STICKING with Orks? No, you DO NOT. They tested it and found out about ALL of our wonky mechanics that fight against us as much as the enemy players. Why do you think it's so hard to get a full team of Ork players anymore? The worst part is that, one of our DLB members recently got tired of the excuses and decided to go into the game files and tweak a couple things to at least get some better camera angles than the one we have now (which is causing issues for Ork players). And you know what? He DID IT! He did what the devs said was too difficult/not a priority to do. And do you know the official dev response when he showed them? THEY COUNTED IT AS AN EXPLOIT AND TOLD HIM TO REMOVE IT! Good job devs, good job. Much as I agree with what you say, the devs will virtually NEVER respond to you. When they do, it's never in a satisfactory manner. Pretty sure each and every one of us on this thread is wasting their digital breath complaining and trying to bring these issues to the devs' attention. They haven't done anything by now and still show no desire to, and I honestly doubt they ever actually plan to at this point. Even if they did, we're so low on their priority list all the Orks will either quit the game or just switch to Chaos.
when someone tries fixing the game but the developers tell them to stop for no reason #justbehaviourthings
The only outstanding issue with the ork faction is that they appear to be the worst at dispatching the throng of space marine transports that are continuously spewing forth from the spawn area. I can play around every other problem, even being outnumbered by the loyalist legion as long as there isn't a clanstack on the other team, but I have fun even then by doing cheese and making sure they have the worst possible, least fulfilling, least fun win I can muster so that they stop queuing for orks. I really do wish we had burna boyz, especially if there was a cosmetic cigar.
Don't be dumb. It's not that black and white. Scripting the FoV doesn't help the Ork Faction one bit (everyone else can do it regardless of faction), because guess what, making the camera higher or zoomed out just masks the problem at hand. Orks will still will fire at cover and it would be even worse because it would seem like they could fire over but are incapable of doing so. You'd just be magnifying the problem. The Ork Camera issue is a tricky one too, they can't Alter the character sizes in order to make them shoot at the same height as the rest of the factions because that'd mean entirely NEW sets of animations, and BIGGER HITBOXES Which would imply MORE ARMOR AND HP to compensate. Can you imagine how fucked melee would be too? We wouldn't fit through doorways in a fight. They can't just change the cover system altogether either, it's a massive undertaking however you look at it so far. Point is, Orks are fucked mechanically speaking, I hope the dev team pulls off a miracle.
You're asking far more of them than they've ever shown sir. I accept the rebuke though, it is well founded now that I think on it.
I had the most fun in 2 months today (not only in EC, but fun in general), when we could not find a match during guild event and switched to Orks and happened to be playing against our guildmates every single match. We were making Ork-voices, talking crap, yelling, generally goofing around while admittedly playing to win. And we won 4 matches in a row. It was so hilarious, I will try to make this standard procedure: Can't find matches in 10 minutes during an event? Go Ork.
