I think we're all forgetting that when it works properly and they don't have those first couple frames to leave the range, healing with narth/urty makes the target stop moving....I think LSM can figure out to not run from the white marines, the ones with skull masks
You can bet that a lot of them don't even play Apo with healing their team mates in mind. They just play as tactical or assault but with the self healing. That's the perverse thing with that system, it's such a pain to use that it doesn't even make you wanna heal. But when you play sorcerer, man, that's a blast. And once again not because of the range, but because of how intuitive and easy it is.
Check if you're often against a guild: players who coordinate via voip are definitely more effective. Just because they stick to the squad leader they all can have a damage bonus by 6%. You know... 10 bolters each one with +6% damage... they can make a difference
You could stand at the doorway to a capture point just giving a mini-buff/heal to everyone running in too.
Pretty much this. A lot of new players try the game on LSM. They do their best but the lack of a propper tutorial and the fact they seldom ask questions about how to play makes for some... interesting... situations a lot of times. I am reminded of a brother Devastator who kept running from the scary, black armored, skull helmet bearing Marine who was trying to stab him. Kept d-bashing and meleeing the scary man to keep him away. Never had a harder time healing a teammate on my Wolf Priest. And while we're on that subject: This. And the fact that the Narthecium is messed up somehow in the current patch. You have to stand at JUST. THE. RIGHT. ANGLE. to perform any heal. And don't even get me started on reviving teammates. It's so bad that the common practice among LSM healers is to first revive a teammate with E and only then try to apply a heal with F. Healing during combat can pretty much only be done with the AoE heal grenades now. Too bad most people have figured out that frags take those out pretty easily. PS: I play on CSM and Orks a bit too and I see a lot of the same sillyness of players not being coordinated or using teamwork at all. So I'm not saying this is a LSM only thing.
I play for 3 weeks and during those 3 weeks I pretty ticked off from Eldar Hawks, especially on maps with a limited number of lives, where they play in defence, they fly to unbelievable heights and snipping from their spear of light, when they will be removed or nerfed. For every game against Eldar, I just thought: "Well, how do you expect me and my friends to get through this shootting and indestructible bunker, even if our Assault Marines can't get up to them?"
Pro tip, you can shoot them They are fragile and if they are in a position to shoot you decently they are hovering or grounded, this means you can shoot back, even if you don't kill them a few shots will leave them with less health and or nock them out of a fight to find first aid, and if you harass a harasser you will find they get punished far harder, the balance is they are a range class that struggles fighting range fighters. Try it and you should get some results but you have to land shots so it might take some time.
I guess you play Space Marine? Bolters or Heavy Bolters. When a Hawk is moving fast, it can't shoot. If it's shooting, it's moving slow enough for you to get some shots in. 3-4 Shots are enough to drop em down to the floor where they need to recover from the fall. Enough time to land some juicy headshots, with their lower Durability = Kill. But that requires you to play ranged of course in a melee-dominant game...
