The trick is having a taller humanoid that could pass for a human if the ears are hidden and some of the sharper features are overlooked. Eldar could not pass for humans if they looked completely alien, and there are many instances of where Eldar are noted as blending in with humans. The big difference to the Imperium is the fact they are aliens so they view the Eldar and the ways they think as inhuman.
Huh.. I knew that! Of course I did... You see, it's important that we don't forget the nice things, even if they're.. two years old. Yes, that's right!
That's the way I saw it too. Tau look pretty alien though, but still humanoid. So don't despair people. Is there any news of when we will get a peak of the Eldar? Not playable, just some roughs of what they look like.
The problem with your request is that GW have used that route since Rogue Trader. Eldar have always been the modern western portrayal of Elves...impossibly gorgeous super-models. Same as in WHFB....sorry...AoS... I think the 'alieness' of Eldar is more in their attitude to other races, their outlooks on life, etc rather than their actual physical form which in both art and model terms has been pretty consistent for the last twenty seven years. Showing fan art doesn't add anything to your case.
For the sake of cross-IP aesthetic cohesion, I see the Eldar looking similar to how they were depicted in DoWII. They are humanoid, but their features are far sharper. In game design, he shape and silhouette are the most important. You immediately know a Space Marine from and Ork and and Ork from an Eldar just by the shadow they cast. Image Credit DoWII by THQ
Like someone posted earlier, they are clearly described by their creators(Games Workshop) as looking like humans with the exception of being taller, having slanted eyes, and pointy ears. So they should look like that. In-game model, in addition to the aforementioned above, they should have the physique of a kickboxer, MMA fighter, or special ops soldier; lithe, long limbed, and defined musculature. Bodies built for martial prowess, pragmatic physical exertion, and dealing death.
Who cares if they look close to human? Their culture, is absolutely different and furthermore, they language is so extremely complex, a small sign of body language can change the entire meaning of a sentence or a word. Ontop of that, only a few humans know the Eldar language, and speak it poorly, obviously they are very unlikely to ever speak 'normally', as a normal Eldar would, due to it's complexity.
The thread is so old that the original image of "how Eldar should look like" doesn't load anymore, so I'm not even sure what OP wants.
