    ridiculous is right. 700 points for what 4-5 extra bolt (no extra anything else) shots. There was, or is, still a problem when you get downed and revived you'll lose that bonus until you redeploy.

    Why is everyone so afraid of dying in this game. Jump guys disrupting the back line can jump in and out of combat pretty well. Bring a health pack and you can keep the enemies heavy weapon guys busy trying to get a bead on you long enough for the rest of your foot slogging squads to get into position to do something. The few times I have had a guy jumping with me we have caused enough chaos that the point is usually pretty well swarmed with the rest of our team.

    Except when they have Fire Dragons. Fuck those guys.

    1 single class is not supposed to be able to kill people indefinitely.

    Brent said that heal-on-hit, and possibly the old Berserk buff, will be back as options in a couple of patches.

    Honesty I started to appreciate again playing as a raptor with this patch.
    The increased toughness in exchange for the vampiric attacks feels better for me, as looking for an enemy to hit in order to stay in combat always felt cheesy for me.

    The only 2 things that imo need to be fixed to make this the best melee system are the clang tuning and heavy attack-dbash outcome, which currently is probably the main reason why melee fights last so long.

    As a ranged player, that backstab damage boost removal does a world of difference. Combined with the ability for my Tac to have one extra roll through wargear, oh man. I said before that there would be a reckoning for people who kept spamming fast attacks, evades, and backstabs against an obviously ineffective Dbash.

    The reckoning has come.

    Even though I main as a Bolter Tac (yeah I know...the Bolter kinda sucks right now), I play all the classes and melee isn't in too bad a spot. Could it use some tweaking, hell yeah. Is it the end of the world? No. The raptor really needed his durability brought up, and he really needed to lose his backstab cheese and that life leech. All in all, it just feels better now. Good melee players still top the scoreboard, and they can still go toe to toe, and win, against me. Bad melee players can't go on cheese streaks, and I can hold my own against them as a Tac when they play horribly.

    This is about the best ranged/melee balance I've seen in a LONG time. Sure, melee could use some tweaking to ensure their melee dominance, but minor tweaks, they don't really need anything too large anymore past minor tweaks and a few bugfixes. Maybe something with the power attack vs. a Dbash (more weapon durability damage, or a small stun perhaps.)

  7. Melee will be much better once clang / weapong durability system will be tuned...

    Yesterday, i ragequit because i got my PF broken in a D.Bash clang vs a tactical and i do not ragequit a lot...(and no, i always play alternating FA and D.B)

    How that is even possible >.<

    Anyway, JP for now, kinda hard to play but after all the previous patch, JP have always been hard to play... i do not expect it to become an entry player class.

  10. When we are fan, we cannot be not excited.

    Normally the game should be like this:
    JP : melee specialist, if you are in close combat, against it, you are dead At distance, JP is dead.
    Tactical: good at ranged, if you are in their aim, you are supposed to be dead but if struck in melee, your survival chance must drop !
    Devastator / Havoc: extremely good at ranged and extremely bad in melee.

    Sometimes, when i read the forum, i have the impression that ranged people (not everyone but few) wants to be good in ranged and melee... That's the impression i have by reading posts.

    I understand you don't want to be butcher in chain but, that's the game. Melee specialist are supposed to be the best in melee.

    Here you will find my most common death / bug situation i encounter.

    The wing clipping system: i receive 2-3 shot while i am performing a slam and i am stopped mid air ? Almost every weapon equipped with bullet can stop a JP mid air.
    The actual Melta: tact melta do not run and just spam D.Bash to spray melta ? Yep, the short stagger due to D.Bash is enough to spray melta and they can avoid the hit by walking aside! (well, i am playing with a PF so that is maybe the weapon gameplay... awful)
    Latency, i am protected by a wall and actually be shoot through the wall and got killed.
    As a melee, you cannot aim? i do count how many time i got killed in the stairs, unable to find an angle to deal damage at melee while the ranged just need to aim^^
    Mega shield for Devastator : i have devastator/havoc releasing charged shot of their PC at their feet, killing me but not them?
    D.Bash with a PF, the ultimate protection ? No, if you D.bash and kick the guy during the animation of his d.bash, you loose.
    Chainsword FA bypassing the d.bash ?

    That's how i die usually. I die more to bug and wrecked system than actually fighting proper fight.

    All melee players are waiting for the new melee system with eyes full of hope and i don't want to believe what Njal repeat me everyday: hope is the first step to disappointment xD
