' This. Totally. All i kept thinking of through the thread was BF2 did it right. why not follow that plan.
Counter: You earn faction-based RTCs while playing the campaign, so you do not need to spent real money. Just play the game. Bonus: since it is faction based, you have to unlock it for each of them. If you really want to lead right from the beginning, you have to pay (per faction) so BHVR makes some money.(Win-Win situation) Since we both agree it should not be given easily, what's your idea?
I agree it should set highest rank player to Squad Leader. That being said though I have seen most randoms handing over Squad Leader to people in Guilds. 90% of the time if I dont start with Squad Leader its handed to me or another one of my Guildies. The newbs are getting smarter guys dont worry. Its only a matter of time till the up their skills. They are on the right track.
the problem I see with that is what happens if there are only rank 3's and below in the game, no squad leader bonus for anyone? I've been in games where I'm the only one with a fancy icon next to my name (although seriously working out the ranks of other people is a bit of a ball ache) so I assume I was with lots of lvl 1/2/3's so I don't think there would have even been enough for a rank 4+ per squad to be a leader Rather than assign squad dynamically as you join it should make a general pool and then work out how many squads it will create and assign the highest peeps currently in game although even then you would still have issues if peeps are moving squads/large number join after game start
Is this something the team can address? It's lame always having to vote-kick out someone just because they don't know how to be a squad lead, or more commonly they don't know they are the squad lead because they're brand new and the game assigned them to lead.
Should be a option, in main Menu, thats check/uncheck for being squad leader, defaulting on Off. Letting people opt out all together and Noobs have to check to get the option,. It would fix some of the problems, hitting the match right off. This still spawns from the lack of a good starting area, that really shows normal play. Mock up event, that your part of the taking of a Point. The actors would only "act" when they as a leader, Mark a point,..tell them to move out...ect. Then it needs to show how fast you die in normal combat. and make you walk passed a Heavy gun blarring away down a hall with lots of cover. Maybe only 3 scripted events could make every noob somewhat better overall. But as a rule. i try to go Garrison, train one willing noob a day. In effort to fix this myself. Since i doupt the devs see this as something that needs to be made right away.
I reposted this idea as its own thread, maybe the right ears will hear it. Prolly should just tag a Dev to make sure.
I think its in the command menu - if I remember rightly its under V and then the bottom option (for leaders) and then rally. I think holding Q where you aim just sets a waypoint at the specific location. However asking people to rally on you is even worse than setting a waypoint - A) because you are likely to move again before they respond, B) because you are likely to be killed also and C) because they probably still ignore you regardless.
