There's a certain map where it is literally impossible on both A and B points to get out of two guys spawn camping with plasma cannons. But that's more of a map problem. Overall, eh, not that big a deal.
It's not just rhinos though, dude. It's particularly bad when it's happening to defenders on fortress maps because they can spam the handful of spawn points with blind shots and waste entire groups that have no choice and no chance. Look, it's not uncommon to see PC users with 50, 60 kills. Nobody should be getting that many kills unless they're ungodly good. Most people call things OP if they regularly get 20 - 30 kills. PCs are just on a whole other planet, particularly if the user is moderately good. The Plasma Gun and Plasma Pistol aren't anywhere near as bad.
I rarely get killed by plasma of any sort as JPA. The only time I do is when a plasma ball comes flying at me from behind and have no warning to dodge. Oneshotkill mechanics ftw? Because everybody likes to play a game they cant control the outcome for.
Yeah, plasma cannons are ridiculous. It is a mystery to me why the devs thought a weapon that does lethal damage in an AoE was a good idea. There's an easy fix, though: make the damage diminish with distance from the center of the blast. Require a direct hit for a one-shot kill.

Also, this is why you have striking scorpions and swooping hawks, if you frontal charge people laying down heavy weapons, you deserve to lose. Again, that's a map issue with the spawn points. The devs had said they fixed that at one point, but I've noticed the same spawning in clumps problem that was particularly bad through most of early this year. I really hate when people put some arbitrary limit on what they think everyone else should be capable of in a match. It's usually people suffering from Dunning Kruger, and it's never logical.
If you're talking about B point on Agnathio, there's 2 front entrances and an additional central entry point accessible by flying units.
Reduce dmg and speed of projectile make it overheat faster and a chance to explode in face when going into red charging fase
