I agree, Siggyfreed. I think plasma cannon is a bit unbalanced but not to the degree that many think it is. I even admit that I may be wrong in my opinion. A lot of time, it's the meta that needs changing, players need to adapt to new play styles before they cry OP. Balance issues should not be addressed hastily but after careful consideration. I have noticed that generally people have gotten better at fighting plasma cannon in just this past week! In one week, less players are standing still spraying a bolter at you as you wind up your charge. More players are targeting me first. It is difficult to kill a player who is aware of you and dedicated to not getting hit by your plasma ball. It still may be unbalanced, but there are new tactics and strategies to try out and see if those work.
The Marine plasma cannon should be changed to be like the Ork one, a higher damage but higher heat machine gun. The ball AOE crap has to stop.
Now that the detractors have brought attention to it, even pubbies have learned how to fight against it, as they needed to. Strategies will be developed and you'll see fewer people crying foul, it's the early players jumping on the "nerf x" bandwaggon who end up wrecking the balance of the game. Remember the biggest solution to balance problems is literally getting better at the game. Great suggestion with no reasoning or rationale to back it up. All you've voiced is an opinion and I hope you don't expect anyone with half a brain to take that seriously. The "ball AOE crap" is just fine and is designed for removing stubborn enemies from behind cover. Which, surprisingly, it does quite well.
What. All you said is that it's hard to use. It isn't. That people shouldn't talk about balance issues because they hurt your feelings or something, which is silly. The reality is any one hit kill area of effect weapon is going to be absolutely dumb if it isn't severely limited (i.e. grenades). Especially when the melee system ties groups of people up for long periods of time clanging off each other and forces combat around certain contained areas (capture points).
Please re-read my post before attempting to argue against me in such a half-assed fashion. AoE 1 hit kill weapons are very much a reality in the 40K universe, so you're going to have to get used to the idea. Using grenades as an example is laughable, since they're so weak at the moment that unless you sit on top of one you'll come away pretty much unharmed. You also have yet to provide a reasonable alternative besides vague references to "limiting" a weapon that for the most part works as intended.
The aoe on the charge ball just needs to be reigned in a little.getting instagibbed because a plasma ball aimed at someone else landed 20 feet away is ridiculous. Ive even had plasma balls instagib me from full hp/armor when they hit the cover that i was hiding behind(railing/bridge).
So you use Plasma and don;t want it nerfed? The nerf bat swings wildly my good sir, I bet you called for Eldar nerfs. Now feel the Bern.
PS. Here's a video of me rolling deep in the kills: View: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wGCqi-fg-v8[/QUOTE] if that weapon is not OP, thats faking insane OP. edit: just dont say that this is SM weapon.
To put things in perspective. Everytime I get a string of kills I find the enemy team. Mostly a guild. Will do everything in their power to focus only me. If this gun makes them that angry. I feel fairly guilty using it. It's usually my go to "Alright the enemy team is being a butt. Let's fix that real quick."
