Plasma cannons currently and what should be changed.

Uhh, Eldar haven't used lasguns for at least 15 years. They have laser weapons, yes, but not the same kind IG use.
  2. Increase plasma base charge time by .5 seconds.

Increase heat generated per shot by 15%

    Go from there.
    Celestia and TheMightyTachikoma like this.

Currently there is zero reason to use the heavy bolter over Plasma, its just that good.

    1. Projectile is still invisible half the time.

    2. Extremely fast charging time.

    3. No risk at all to the user except for when a person gets in close which usually results in a down and suicide.

    4. AoE is huge and promotes blind firing around doorwars and corners (So canon).

    5. Overheating is not a problem for some reason.

    6. One hit kills nearly anywhere in the AoE radius for easy kills and points.

And SM players still wonder why their beloved plasma is so hated.

Swooping hawks and corsairs still do.

Same stat line as lasguns IIRC

I also think that is the big problem with the PC. The charge up time is soo small that you can recharge a missed shot to be ready when that guy gets out of a dodge move(the animation takes almost as much lol) and the overcharge is long enough not to be punished by charging at the wrong time. There is no incentive to cancel a charge, you can just shoot it and go for one more. All other weapons release their charge when the charge is done, even if you are ready or not(you cant just charge in advance and wait for someone to move near the door), they put you in a loooong reload/overheat(so no followup hit if you miss) and you loose all progress if you need to cancel the charge at any moment.
The PC is just better at every aspect.

I think the PC should also root you in place when using. I actually think all heavy weapons should. Charging in cover removes the only weakness of actually having to charge a weapon.

Is there any other weapon that releases the charge at any time instead of at the end of the charge?

I think there are actually differences in the statline between lasguns and lasblasters, but it's been a long time since I played Eldar and even longer since I used Swooping Hawks, and I don't have my Codex handy, so I'm not sure about that.

Just went to 1d4chan Assault 3 S3, one extra shot but otherwise the same.

So. Does anyone have feedback about my recommendations? What you like? Why you do think it's a good idea or not and offering other suggestions? Something so the game is actually balanced and not debating tabletop rules?

Lasguns are rapid fire, not assault.

    That's a pretty significant difference.

I don't feel I'm qualified to comment smartly on potential balance changes other to state whether I find them objectionable or not.

I did not find the suggestions in the OP to be objectionable, other than that I don't think that the Plasma Cannon should be more effective against vehicles, as plasma weapons in 40k are typically for taking down power armored infantry.
