What about having a limited number of "Spawns" or drop pods being available for your faction/chapter. Like, since it requires time to recover a drop pod, if you use too many too fast, you would have to deploy from a far away base overland. So after an initial drop pod force hits, it may take a while for the "Spawn/Drop pods" to become available. Otherwise, not even Gabriel ANGELOS could keep up with that much steel rain.
After a great victory in celebration (for example) will the other players who aren't part of your squad or strike force be able to board your ship? If so you could celebrate with a feast, a chat then plan out your next strike towards your foes.
Yeah, I guess we'll see that happen, as it is a big part of roleplaying. Our outfit in PS2 had a big celebration after our first year, and it kinda sucked to do it only in the VR training room, so maybe tournament rooms in the biggest ships would be nice as well. This would be an approach like squad deploying in PS2, which I actually found quite neat aswell. But a counter for "droppods left" instead of a simple countdown seems good for me.
Has there been any talk of Eldar ships etc? One of the interesting alternatives if time permits is to have the home-base not be a ship but a small area of a craftworld. I'm not sure if you get to see your ship externally or not, so if the design is that you mostly see the rooms inside. That could fairly easily be modded without worrying about having an exterior craftworld design to look at.
Being DEEP STRIKED imto the fray? FOR THE EMPEROR, BROTHERS! I couldn't hope and pray for a better battle engagement T_T
Eldar spawn points= Webway gates linked to ship/craftworld, or whatever. That would be cool, adds to the feel of Eldar being highly mobile. Allow teleportation between gates too.
Hey Nicholas, will there be a a holographic map representing the current state of the battle field or something similar on the bridge of your cruiser? As a place where you can set strategic points for your particular squad or strikeforce?
We are still looking at what is needed in terms of Map features at the moment. The map is one of the most important aspect of our game - it is where you see what there is to do, where you can deploy, etc. You will be able to set your strategic points for your squad and strike force as you mentioned. How the map will look like we don't know yet - well, I have a pretty clear image in my mind of what I want but not sure if tech will be able to pull it off (we are still pretty early in development, my guess is that Patrick and his team will be able to make it happen).
