Only if they make sense - familiars, grotz, those eldar kittehs and skull probes of varying kinds would do nicely.
Should pets be in this game: No Why: Because its a game about disemboweling people with massive chainsaws, and making heads explode with mass-reactive bolt rounds. Not Petting Zoo simulator 2015. Not satisfied? Then think of this. There are going to be, supposedly, up to 2000 people in a single area at once, shooting thousands of bullets, lasers, missiles, whatever, running around and chopping people up, spilling blood. This all REQUIRES the power of the server in order to make the game work. Even with the tech the devs will have, the game is going to lag somewhat, becomes there is a lot of shit going on for the server to handle. Now imagine everyone and there pet is in this situation. That's, essentially, 4000 different entities, both AI AND human, moving around the battlefield, shooting, and chopping shit up. Except they won't be. Because the server they require to transfer all this data between players is now a molten, fizzing puddle of metal. Don't blame to many people for wanting to play the game. Blame the fucking pets, who don't give a shit about the game, but are just sitting there wasting precious server power, power the server doesn't have, resulting in before-mentioned molten metal puddle. I'm a strange, crazy MMO freak that simply must have a pet in every MMO I play. Is there SOME way I can have a pet with out making lots of people very angry?: Yes. On your ship and warbarge. They can follow you around there, so you can boast about its amazing fur, while everyone throws you weird looks. Or you can go play WOW. Or Rift. Or whatever satisfies your pet fetish. Conclusion: No pets in battle. Only on the warbarge and ships. Let the players enjoy the game as it was made to be: as Massive Brutal Death Simulator 2015.
Guilty as charged. But excess in all things is the way of Slaanesh...would not be the same without it. But I do agree with you, pets have no place in a war zone. Nevertheless I do reserve myself the right to hoard as many pets as I want in the privacy of my ship.
To me personally that is the worst of all , they then becomes buffs to them that have them over them that do not. Which is really crap because that means you then have to take them
not really as long as they are introduced properly (i think djemo has suggested a nice way with some kewl tradeoff)
