Heard this mentioned on the livestream. I think I get the gist of it but I was wondering if someone who knew more could explain what they've envisioned "personal goals" as being and how that's supposed to integrate with open maps. Second, @Noah said he's still interested in doing "open maps", which I assume are sort of larger free-roam maps, and that PvPvE has been brought up and discussed together. And my thinking is... Why not combine them? It'd be cool for the lore if you could go stomping into the wilderness between battlezones and run in to both Tyranids and other players. It'd also help these zones not feel empty when there's AI mobs running around constantly, and would provide the set up for Lair missions, etc., where you'd be like "Ok it's time to stop killing Tyranid packs in the fields and go hunt them where they live."
Personal goals, y'know? Going to college, starting your career, getting married, having kids, those sorts of things.
As for the personal goal things, I want to live hard and die hard l m a o As for the other stuff, I kind of thought the same. I think that'd be absolutely amazing if they could somehow implement that. A giant wide open zone that's constantly fought over by the factions, full of points to take (maybe each one gives boons like more ammo boxes or more tanks. Or maybe one that allows you to perform a big orbital strike on an enemy??). Factions getting pushed back and forth. Just to push the idea that this is a universe of perpetual warfare. Maybe an open zone that's nothing but a blasted no-man's land full of craters and trenches that's mostly for vehicular warfare. Fighting an ocean of tyranids from a predator would be pretty great. Also maybe a jungle full of Eldar ruins and another that's a giant Chaos ziggurat on an icy mountain. As you can see, I've also been thinking about big wide-open maps. So yeah, I do hope that at some point they can implement them in some way.
Ideas about open maps? Put them into one thread here... http://forum.eternalcrusade.com/thr...xpansion-the-move-to-large-territories.64506/
