Perhaps Additional Objectives And Such To Help Break The Usual Gameplay?

  1. So we all know how fun it is to go around and storm enemy bases (or defend our own). We also know that there are times where it starts to get a bit old.

    My suggestion to help break up the gameplay a bit would be to allow players to choose to do new "Missions" that both benefit the Faction itself but isn't limited to just raiding and defending bases.

    1. Supply Runs and Armed Escort.

    Commanders (or anyone of sufficiently high rank) would be able to send out special transport vehicles from "Major" bases containing resources captured and stored by players in a vault which make supply runs to other bases, carrying resources to and from the bases for player use.

    These transport vehicles can be manned either by NPCs or Players, and will get an Escort containing either Players or NPCs who each get their own vehicle for the supply run.
    Players can choose to drop out at any time, and if they cannot be replaced by another player will be replaced by an NPC.

    Opposing Factions can raid these vehicles in an attempt to steal the resources from them.
    When the transport vehicle is destroyed it will not explode, but rather become in-active, allowing the enemy to take its supplies.
    If the transport vehicle is destroyed but the enemy is dead the remaining Escort can either request aid for another transport from a nearby base or attempt to carry the resources back themselves.

  2. I like the idea of these supply runs, although they would likely need to travel at a high-ish speed and have NPC escorts. But also not carry ALL the resources from a base, maybe only 25% earned ? And they would only be used to transfer resources between bases to reinforce their destination?

  3. Other missions could include VIP extraction (extract a scout from deep in hostile territory, or a tech priest that have wanderd of in search of some STC)

    Search and Rescue (Find a crached Thunderhawk and rescue the injured pilot ,passenger or cargo while the enemy tries to search and destroy)

    Search for an STC or part of an STC.

    Most important is that the enemy always got a counter misson to prevent you from succeding.
  4. Besides faction objectives like relic capturing etc.

    Supply runs, for extra good supplies.
    Random world events have been talked about.
    Dungeons and raids are there.
    Done.
  5. They wouldn't be carrying all the resources, just a set amount the Commander thought was appropriate.

    And the way the Escort works is that it'll either be Player only, NPC and Player, or NPC only depending if people decide to join and help. Not sure on what the max amount of people in an Escort would be, but if there is only a few Players in it and they cannot be replaced by the time it sets out the rest of the Escort Spots will be filled by NPCs.

    He said something about a mission mode or something, and the example he gave was to carry a relic from one point to another through enemy territory. It was precisely to break the routine to "just go bash some gits"
