Pholax smirked at his wannabe techmarine brother. "What can I say, being stuck in an arena fighting tooth and claw for years on end, you end up either becoming like your surroundings or you literally become them." Pholax roared a throaty laugh remembering the time a warrior was left impaled to a wall after someone entered the arena against Vyre and matched him for a time and there was no one able to rip him off his foe. Perhaps that's what'd have happened to Pholax if other World Eaters weren't there.

"Thank you for the vote of confidence of the new look, most who see it shudder and walk away, there was a couple who made comments about it but when I said they could take it to the red sands if they like most shied away. Been weeks since I've had a good fight. I care not for the look it gives, after losing a chainblade because of it not being literally chained to me I decided to try out the World Eater tradition in keeping my weapon with me. Haven't dropped a weapon in combat since." Pholax looked up bemused by a previous occasion, "Even when an beast of an Ork flung me at a wall, still had my Chainaxe in hand. As for the armour, I imagine it is still aboard the Conqueror." Pholax said rattling the chains a little.

"Well that sounds interesting working beneath a Primarch, only time I met Angron he told me to not offer traitors a chance and to just kill them on sight, I was more idealistic back then." Pholax burst into laughter remember when he was more naive about the Imperium's foes. Even those who had once been of our banner. "But at least you got to test out new toys for him, and yes, you had to make your kill not press a button. I hope you still enjoyed your time removing and building structures, as much as it pains me to say, you'd take down a building faster with a big gun than my Chainaxe." Pholax smirked at his brother before turning to Jendon.

"Kill is a kill, Jendon, a big kill is just a bigger kill. Just because you can kill a fat man doesn't make him any more worthy of a kill. But do tell, what was your biggest kill? I once delivered the final blow to a Squiggoff I believe I heard a Magos Biologis call it. All I know is they have tough hide to carve through, after my chainaxe got gunked up, I decide to slide a Krak grenade into it's wound and watched it break apart. Stench was horrific, but that's Greenskins for you." Pholax laughed with his brother remembering about tales of killing foes of the Emperor.

"Could just strike in, no need to set up a forward base, that is where the Orks will regroup and hit us. Being constantly on the move the Orks will be unable to catch us provided we kill with speed and efficiency and if command is willing to still set up a forward base aboard the vessel then we'll split the Ork forces in the belief we're an assault force and there is a reserve force. Don't go for the arms or legs, go for the throat. Take an Auspex reading on entry and we should find the chambers of the Greenskin leader. They aren't exactly subtle. And yes the irony of that is not lost on me considering my plan." Pholax smirked at his idea of charging head first and gutting anything in sight until they made their way to the leader of the vessel.

"Even if we get overwhelmed the Orks will be targeting us over the rest of the Legion which I guess is a good thing." Pholax smiled, "More for us to butcher." Pholax laughed.

    OOC:

A straight forward charge into the vessel in a weakened area of the vessel and then beginning a non stop thrust to the leader of the Orbital Platform.

"A need to impress? Brother, I saw no need for you to do so," he said to Elymas, a bit puzzled as to why his brotherly greeting apparently merited special treatment. "I am glad you feel that you are one of us, but so far as I am concerned, you always have been. And my weapons are my tools for the destruction of our enemies, never fear, just as they were." Aleph returned the smile, albeit with a mild confusion.

Aleph turned to Jendon as he spoke. "It went ... remarkably. They have a distinct way of waging war that is quite unlike our own. On the surface, at least; but we did find common ground. No doubt we will have a lot to compare should we get the chance, and I would welcome it." It wasn't a detailed summary of what he had learned, but Aleph didn't think Sidon would have time for that here and now. "Nice hat."

Vitaly, however, wasn't going to be so easy to put aside for later. Taking his cue from Vitaly's low tone, he replied in kind.

"They are everything rumour would have them, aye. They have conviction in their purpose, but I - well, I am of the Third, Brother; we are sent in to ensure compliance, not punish those who break it."

"Do you know, they even invented a game to take advantage of our differences? They called it The Phoenix and the Crows. My brighter colours and skill with a blade to draw out the most self-important foes. Their beaks and talons to tear the prey apart." He'd been happier once they stopped calling it The Rabbit and the Condors.

"Where we might take an enemy's weapon as a trophy, they would take his head." He paused. "Eventually."

"I made my share of Brothers there in the Eighth, but I am glad to be back among my own. The recollections I have are still being committed to canvas, as I'm sure will much in the days to come."

Aleph turned to the matter at hand. The plan of action laid out by Vitaly - primarily - and the others in detail seemed to be effective, and if it had a fancier scope than a simple attack plan then he knew that to succeed well, one had to aim high. No sense in holding back due to overplanning - that was the way of the Thirteenth - or holding out for too much redundancy as the Imperial Fists might do.

"If we strike for the engines, we take out the heart and once the heart is stopped, even an Orkish beast will die." He formed his hand into a fist as he spoke. "If we slide in under their notice like a blade under the ribs, we make that strike more effectively and easily."

"Interesting idea concerning the faint and-then-extraction attack, however there are couple of issues with it. There is around a thousand brothers assaulting this station as we speak plus some exterior elements of the Imperial force, if the officer's channel is of any indication. Maybe one day when some of you becomes a Captain you could organize the entire force to suit your needs, however today Apox calls the shots and he wants to do this the hard way. Techmarine Thales is with him and while we don't have the necessary equipment here on the Ram I'm sure he packed quite a lot of things with him so we could perhaps get ourselves a teleport homer or two, however what we most certainly won't do is interfere with the attacks on other two battlestations," Sidon said, sounding perhaps a bit annoyed that he had to go through the following explanation due to the fact it bordered closely on slander.

"Captains Cautorious and Minteril are in charge of those two and stepping over their jurisdiction could be seen as a direct insult and that they aren't competent enough to do the task. Minteril would perhaps even consider to look at the greater picture but Cautorious most certainly wouldn't, especially since he brought all of his Palatine Blades with him on this deployment so trying to interfere with them wouldn't help any of us, and through it our Company, in the long run," with a heavy sigh, he continued, "The faster you remember you are among your parent Legion and acclimatize to the changed surroundings the better. It will save you a lot of headache."

Trusting his squad to understand the intricate politics that underlined everything the Legion and its members did, Sidon went forward to the pilot and informed him that they will be joining in the Engine assault. Caestus Ram turned as the pilot adjusted the trajectory and Sergeant put on his safety harness, gesturing for the others to do the same and spend the next thirty seconds, the time it needed them to cross the distance in the void, completely focused at the battle ahead.

At 22nd second everything changed as their vessel was hit by Ork anti-air battery, completely ruining their descent. Lights went red and their pilot and gunner were killed on the spot, however the machine spirit was capable enough to still align them towards the fortress and not outer space, saving the lives of the entire squad in the process. While the crew space wasn't that crammed, every member of the 4th squad had to also thank their power armor which also protected them from any major injuries and suffocation as the breathable air disappeared the moment the Ram's side was blown up. In any event, they managed to dock with the side of the battlestation and as the multi-meltas burned through the Greenskin infrastructure, Sidon gave signal for everyone to get up.

"This is only a minor setback. Plan remains unchanged," Sergeant said as he kicked the assault ramp, entering the Ork base with his bolter raised. Scanners showed that they were currently located around ten decks above the massive engine room, so a bit of marching through the alien home was required.

However the moment they got out of the Ram they heard the familiar sound of weapons firing. Their entry point brought them on the edge of a large chamber within the battlestation where they could see couple of cargo elevators going up and down - one of them was completely obliterated by the Ram's multi-meltas and its passengers, a dozen or so aliens of all shapes and sizes, were now reduced to burned husks. But there was more of it were it came from.

Two elevators were currently on hold as the Orks stopped to deal with another set of intruders, a squad of Solar Auxilia troopers currently hunkered around bunch of boxes and firing on the incoming aliens, who carried a mix of ranged and melee weapons, all looking crude but effective. Second elevator held three walking monstrosities that closely resembled metal cans with attached claws for limbs. They too walked out of the elevator and their weapons discharge, a mix of rockets and bolt charges turned couple of humans into pieces, much to the Greenskin satisfaction.

There was also a group of Orks carrying long-barreled weapons waiting on the third elevator to arrive, who turned their faces towards the 4th squad the moment their Ram hit the wall and unloaded them in. Opening fire, they didn't even see that the elevator came, carrying an Orkish aircraft that was definitely heading for some other deck, its pilot looking almost annoyed by the situation. "Oi gitz! What's dis kommotion over ere?! Need ta get miself up and shootin and all of ya'r ust lollygagging!"

"Suffer not the Xenos to live. For Fulgrim," Sidon said and started firing on the incoming Orks, not skipping a beat.

"Hm. That's a shame," muses Vitaly as Sidon lists the obstacles to their plan, "Well, if we're bound to this battlestation as our objective, teleportation is of tertiary importance. Engines and then bridge it is."

As the Caestus is hit, killing the lander's crew, Vitaly leaps into action, metaphorically. Extruding a serpents' nest of data mechadendrites, he interfaces with the Caestus' machine-spirit, giving himself full administrator-level access even as its automated breaching routines keep it on course for the planned LZ.

As the magna-meltas burn through the hull to their final beachhead, Vitaly piles out right after Sidon. With his twin servo-arms wrenching debris aside from the squad's path to clear the way, he bulls his way to the front for a good look at the battlefield. He doesn't need the data from his portable Auspex unit to tell they have breached straight into a pitched firefight. In the blink of an eye, his Threat Assessment Matrix parses his observations of the theatre and returns the best-fit result.

"Brothers - targeting heavy units," he voxes to the squad, bracketing the Dakkajet and two of the Killa-Kans in the shared tactical overlay, "You are free to engage the infantry."

A quick mental pulse sends fire control commands down his wireless data-link with the Caestus. The Dakkajet is indicated as an immediately-actionable target, causing the magna-meltas to glow briefly before emitting their characteristic beams of white heat with a quiet roar. Without missing a beat, Vitaly levels his gamma cannon at the Killa-Kans identified by his tactical analysis software as the most immediate threats. Taking aim at one sporting a brace of rockets, he directs a devastating, collimated lance of invisible, ionising high-energy radiation at its centre-mass before swivelling to engage a second, this one boasting an oversized projectile gun. As he fights a peculiar, albeit apropos, battlecry issues from his augmetic vox-grille.

"For the Emperor! For Fulgrim! For the Legion! Humanitas Omnia Vincit!"

    - Biggest kill
    @dx144

"Seems You might have me beat brother Pholax, Squigoth sounds defiantly different then the Reptile that about chased me and Phocron around, heheh that was a story, Basically me and a kill team were with a distraction team were on this death like world with a bunch of reptiles, Big reptiles with sharp teeth that could even tear into our power armor, The Xenos on the world managed to get the jump on us by using witchcraft and devised a trp planing to our own strategy instead of going after the distraction team they went after us the kill team, man was it a surprise, Me and phocron almost got eaten, We were fighting and running our bolters havvving a problem penetrating the creatures hide, and the xenos controling it directly with there mind, Only thing we could shoot was the eyes and mouth, So me Phocron, Damain, and Cloras all devised a plan one of us would shoot it in the eye whie the other would try to put a frag down its gullet when its open its mouth, Deciding to volunteer as bait Cloras and me would be throwing the frag and getting its attention while Damian and Phocron took the shots at the creature's eyes, Me and Cloras really pissed the beast off when we began calling the witchs name and we took off luring as both Damian and phocron took there shots Damaina nailing it in the eye while phocron misted only by an inch, Still got the job done, when it opened its mouth Cloras jumped at and managed to shove his servo arm in long enoguh to jam the mouth of the beast and I managed to get a frag grenade in its gullet. Cloras lost his servo arm and one of his hearts though when the witch through her spear right into his chest. Though was able to survive the damage done to him. The beast went down and smoke was coming out of its mouth, and we were able to turn the battle but the witch got away, She would later appear again during the campaign and would duke it out with another team though," Jendon said telling his own tail of a unforeseen hunt.

Jendon nodded, Already strapping himself he held on, when he felt the blast rock the boat he already saw two life signs go dark As they breached he held on and as Sidion piled out and the others he was off doing his duties heading towards the cockpit finding, Finding the first body completely vaporized only legs and some torso meat left and no proginoid, Jendon went upwards towards the gunner pit, opening it up he found the gunners lower torso, Begining his operation he went to check for the single progniod that might be left slicing open the torso he spotted it activating his narthicanum he extracted the organ and cycled his narthicanum, "Blast left her in a poor condition. Hope it can still be used." Rest easy Brothers." Jendon said as he exited.

Lifting up his bolter he exited bolter raised looking towards the situation, Human auxilla, troops and orks all around them, ork heavy armor was already coming towards them as well as what looked to be an aircraft on board. The enemy had fire support and home field advantage, Not good. "Children of the Emporer Death to his Foes!" Jendon said as he raised his bolter looking to support the auxilla and keep his brothers path clear. "Come on ya Green skinned uglies lets see what ya got," Jendon said a burst of bolter rounds exited his rifle as he began firing and moving to cover.

Arnock felt as his hearts skipped a beat as the anti-aircraft round impacted against their Ram. This was not because of the thought of losing his life, but instead, it was the thought of dying without being able to take down the vile xenos with him. Peering off into the battle around their ram through the hole the impact left only made Arnock more anxious to get into the fight. This setting would be a glorious stage upon which to increase his Legion's glory. The time thinking as the locked into their point of entry made his grip tighten around the pole of their standard. It could not fall...it will not fall...

Stepping out of the ram,Arnock's visor scanned around the room, taking in the small skirmish happening before him. While the xenos scum did draw his attention first, it was the Solar Auxilia troops that he locked in on. Even capable soldiers of the Imperium could be overwhelmed quickly by Orks within such close quarters as they found themselves in. The sons of the Third were known for leading troops, and Arnock was no different from this. So, without a second thought, Arnock moved to the Auxilia troops to rally them back into the fight. Holding up the standard and drawing his power sword, Arnock cried out to the troops, "Let the xenos know what it means to face the sons of the Imperium! Let not one live to tell the tale of facing man!" Arnock then charged forth towards the xeno foes, letting fly the standard and wrath of the Third Legion.

"To war my brothers! For Fulgrim and the Emperor!" Extrovious dives forward on tails of flame, ever intent on reaching combat first and with as much speed as possible. Eagerness to fight shoulder to shoulder with kin practically bleeds from his every breath. The heavy halberd weighing across both hands stretches in length to a point it could stand taller than any of the Killa-Kans Extrovious initially considered charging. Instead Arnock finds the close combatant roaring past him and straight through the Ork Boyz. Like a living battering ram set with turbine jets Extrovious collides with the mob, letting the momentum from behind catch up and empower the opening swing of his assault. After the horrendous landing and being surrounded by two dead comrades by the time of impact, the librarian calmly stood up and made for the ramp, stopping on top of it as he watched almost in slow-motion how his brethren kicked into action. Before his secondment he would have pulled his bolt pistol out by now and open fire on priority targets.

But Elymas was much of a different Astartes now. He was not as eager as a White Scar. Nor as calculating as the Iron Warriors. But instead he became more of what the Librarium sought their members to be - advisers and men who can sway the winds of war into their favor. Although to change the wind, one first had to understand it's current course.

So he did see not just look, but understand what the situation was. First, in what way the squad did split and second, trying to accustom to their new fighting styles and roles. Vitaly was not only a heavy weapon support anymore, no. He also was their Techmarine. Jendon was not only a man skilled with blade and boltgun, but an Apothecary. His gaze behind his helmet was grim, until he recognized that Arnock was charging towards the Solar Auxilia. That is what the Third was about. Humanity. Compassion. To work as one.

He thumped his staff, it having become a habit whenever he made his mind up. "Your Waagh will come to a Haaalt! Do not suffer the Xenos to live!" Elymas roared, bringing his guitar-staff up and starting to unleash psychic charged soundwaves attuned with the Waagh he has encountered so many times before, the crystal gem within the staff glowing in the same eerily green that a Weirdboy's eyes would. The song itself was designed to appear to empower his comrades-in-arms, but in reality it was a song that would bring weakness to the psyker's foe.

His hands played through the riff of a fast paced power metal song, as the Iron Hands called the genre. While his voice hummed into the lyrics of the song that he versed while in the sands of Medusa, watching wreckage burn and stare into the skies to remember about what it meant to be a legionnaire.

"When the darkness has fallen down.
And the times are tough alright.
The sound of evil laughter falls.
    Around the world tonight.

Fighting hard, fighting on with the steel.
    Through the wastelands evermore.
Our enemies will feel the hell.

We slay them as they go.
To the blackest plains in Hell's domain.
Through the fire and pain and once again we know.

So now we conquer ever mighty.
    Striking like the thunderstorm.
    Our quest carries on.

    Far beyond the sundown.
    Far beyond the moonlight.
Deep inside our hearts and all our minds.

So far away we wait for the day.
For our comrades all so wasted and gone.
We feel the pain of a lifetime lost in a thousand days.
Through the fire and the flames we carry on.

As the red day is dawning.
And the lightning cracks the sky.
Our foes raise their hands to the heavens above.
Staring with fear in their eyes.

There's a burning in my heart.
    We've left our homeland.
To conquer worlds beyond the stars.

In our wildest dreams see to believe.
Our destiny is to rule this galaxy.
And endlessly we'll not suffer the xeno to live.
Through the fire and the flames we carry on."

Aleph braced as the Caestus jolted, locking clamps engaging under Vitaly's field takeover. The Legionnaire spared a thought for the loss of the crew but he had not the time to mourn. Sidon was already urging them into combat. What was once an interest fro Vitaly had become a passion and he was no sooner on the ground than he was using his technical skills to use the craft's armaments to lethal effect. Quickly, Alephoros assessed the situation.

Men of the Solar Auxilia - about to be pinned down. Metal combat engines - already engaged by Vitaly. The Phoenician's standard - already on its way into the fray. Aleph sprinted, keeping to the far side of Arnock as he ran forward, both to draw some of the enemy fire and to engage some of the less occupied Orks.

"Children of the Emperor! Death to his foes!" It was good to be fighting alongside his own Legion again. Though, for a moment, he missed the condor's shriek of the Bleeding Eyes as they soared into the attack. His time with the Eighth had forced him to become better at improvising. Aleph didn't have a jump pack, but he could use the terrain of the hangar bay to his own advantage. Leaping up piled up crates and ramshackle piles of Orkified junk, Aleph stepped lightly, only looking for height long enough to be able to attack from above with his flamer. Hoping to give the green monsters something to think about other than the Standard and the ordinary troops below.

In a state of perfect tranquillity as they approached their target, as if he was one with the vessel carrying him to his destination, everything was thrown out by the Orks, a madness plaguing the galaxy just as it was plaguing him now.

"Damned Orks..." Pholax spat lifting his Autocannon and moving to see any targets requiring his immediate attention, for all they knew they were in a loading bay for the Ork monstrosities that can rival the Titan god machines and if that was the case, they'd have no option other than retreat and get into a position away from such monstrosities.

"Looks like some mortals are about to reach the end of the crimson path..." Pholax spoke pointing towards the mortals cowering but undefeated. Quietly Pholax commended them for even as they are nearing the end they still fight back and show the Xeno we are not afraid.

Looking over the battlefield that was now forming, Pholax saw the third lift arriving, it was likely to hold more enemies, could be some boys late to the fight or something much much worse. Better to destroy it now and be rid of it rather than deal with an additional foe.

"Squad cover me if possible. I will attempt to stop the next elevator from arriving." Pholax spoke as he raised his Autocannon, bracing it, taking aim and firing shot after shot at the Elevator's mechanism in the hope the crude Ork construct would tumble and take it's users down with it to its death.
