Valu was in a bit of a tight spot, as the jaw of the creature came closer he was aware that he wouldn’t be fast enough to prevent it from happening. He felt the thing’s horrid breath on his face and for an instant, time slowed. But instead of his face getting chomped, he was washed in a tide of wet blood as chainsword ripped the rat thing in two. Corpse fell apart and Valu saw Fera standing on top of him, the fallen Sister slaying his would-be killer and saving his life. Stepping away from the downed cultist, Fera brought her heavy bolter about and let it fire into the giant rats assaulting her. She managed to kill the one clinging to her leg, but the rest of the vermin were getting in too close now and she couldn’t really aim properly anymore, although not like she needed to do that to hit the things. Two more rats were blow to hell and back before another pushed forward and clawed at her face, her helmet receiving a new number of scratches that forced her to take upon the defensive once again.

Close to them was Satharn, who struggled to get clear of these nasty things. He managed to catch the one clinging to his head but as he gripped it the thing bit hard into his hand, its teeth punching through ceramite and eating some of his pale flesh. Smashing down he missed the thing running around his stomach, the spider-rat circling around and attempting to take a bite on the Night Lord’s back. But before it could do it a number of shots came its way, courtesy of Valu who attempted to protect his lord. It turned out that only couple of them managed to actually hit the rat, most of the projectiles either created burn marks on Satharn’s plate or simply went wide, the Lacrymole’s aim way off, possibly do to his injuries. (Satharn can kill the spider-rat he’s holding with his next post).

On the other side Ausarius once again tried to summon the powers of the Warp to do his bidding. Maybe he was better at casting this particular spell but the energies obeyed him and a lighting bolt flew towards the Ogre, hitting the thing dead on. It roared in pain as it burned, stench of cooked fur filling the corridor but despite its injuries, it didn’t seem to want to drop dead just yet. It charged the Sorcerer and he barely got out of the way of its giant claws, but he didn’t evade the tail swipe that hit him straight in the chest and floored him instantly.

But before the Rat Ogre could turn around, Attelus showed up as if out of nowhere and struck it twice with his twin blades, creating new wounds and exploiting the damage Ausarius did to further cause the Ogre harm. It screamed but didn’t relent, with a backhand swing it sent the marine straight on ground, right next to where the Sorcerer was lying. More of the rats came their way but before they could swarm the downed marines, Xaviera began firing her pistol, preventing that from happening as she killed three giant rats by herself after managing to cut those who attacked her directly a bit earlier.

All in all, there were plenty of these things to kill but the intruders didn’t relent either. Stepping from the Assault Ram was Nero as well, opening shots with his stalker bolter and killing bunch of rats by himself, thinning the herd and even managing to snipe one of the spider-like things while it readied itself to pounce down on Xaviera from the ceiling.

Erelak managed to find cover behind one of the cargo loaders and set about fixing his jammed bolter. Of course, it was not a huge malfunction but it was enough to garner some attention from him especially in the middle of combat. However he was experienced enough and he quickly found what was the problem, the mechanism requiring more oiling to properly function. Of course he hardly had time for that now but he simply loaded the fresh bolt and it was back in action. Just in time as he saw the big form looming over him and he rolled out of the way as the power fist smashed right through the cargo loader and turned it into scrap. Heavy combat servitor wanted this Raptor dead and it sent gout of flames after him, burning him a bit but it was nothing serious, his armor soaking up most of the damage.

In the meantime, Corbulus and Sobek were on their small chase to increase the number of servants of the Wolves of Horus, no matter how pathetic they were; strength in numbers and all of that. Catching the attention of one of the heavy bolter servitors, Corbulus had to run through a hail of fire to get to it, his armor breached in multiple places and his blood flowing properly for the first time on this mission. However he managed to get to it in one piece and similarly like the last time, he smashed it and properly disoriented it so Sobek could get in and finish the job. Turning around and bringing up his pistol, he became acutely aware of the fact that one of the Sentinels was aiming towards him and the running heretek. Having no place to hide he was washed in a salvo of autocannon shells which ripped his bolt pistol away alongside a better part of his hand, made one big hole in his chest from which you could see one of his lungs and forced him on his knees. Combat servitor that Sobek previously acquired for them even tried to help him but it too was torn to shreds under such fire, but at least it served its purpose as it managed to soak some of the damage aimed towards its master. As for the Cyrabor Mystic, due to all the damage his lord sustained in order to protect him, he went through the entire ordeal without any injuries and he was able to get to the stunned servitor and successfully interface with it, getting another servant for himself today, it ready to be used against its former masters.

Two remaining servitors had their attention elsewhere. Gorzkha, who busied himself cutting a bloody path through the human defenders, after slicing one of them in two and caving in the skull of another the remaining few began running away from him, dropping their rifles and forgetting all about the combat which pleased the crazed beastman, who shot them with his shotgun and sealed their fate in this hangar. Of course, stupid combat servitors weren’t capable of such emotions as fear or terror and they kept on going towards him, the one with chainswords getting covered by the one with the heavy bolter. Couple of bolts exploded all around the bestigor but nothing wounded him at first, but even he was aware that another salvo and he could be turned into beastmen steak. Orghast however, saw this as well and the Death Guard marine sent a series of bolts of his own, that instantly felled the ranged servitor and killed it on the spot. While the one carrying chainswords went after Gorzkha, swinging its swords but failing to connect with his flesh as the beastman parried all the blows, last remaining Sentinel was forced to deal with Orghast. Its pilot activated the lascannon and the searing laser headed for the Plague Marine, but even while he was not the fastest of the “Emperor’s Chosen” he was not slow either, the shot only managing to graze his shoulder pad before Orghast returned fire, the armor plate around the cockpit buckling under bolt impact.

Corbulus charged the servitor with the heavy bolter once more, aiming to repeat his action aimed at the other chainsword servitor, targeting it with a disabling strike in order for the mystic to convert its programming. Armor being picked apart by the bolter rounds, he ignored the pain of where they penetrated through his armor and shoulder tackled the drone, leaving it venerable to Sobek. Turning around to give the orders out, the Alpha Wolf looked at the Sentinal just in time for the autocannon shots to reach his breastplate, realizing that he was completely out in the open. Had the armor been at full function, such attacks would ping off as well as an autogun's ammunitions did.

Unfortunately, that was not the case, and the shots pierced Corbulus' body where the armor had already been weakened by the bolter shots. A round hit his limb, destroying his bolt pistol as well as most of his hand, while another went through his chest, leaving a gap large enough for one to see his lung. The Alpha Wolf paused, but rather than it being out of pain, it resulted from the anger that welled up inside of him. How dare this pathetic worm fire upon the head of the Wolves of Horus? Gripping his chainaxe with his remaining hand, he rose from his kneeling position and addressed the First Archimandrite of his warhost, in a startlingly calm voice.

"Focus both of your fires on the Sentinel." The pilot will be the first skull to be offered to Khorne this day.

With the order given Corbulus raised his chainaxe and roared. "For Lupercal! LET THE GALAXY BURN!" Charging the sentinel, he waived between any and every available cover between himself and the walker, aiming to have them soak up as much fire as possible from the auto cannon before reaching the defending vehicle. The Alpha Wolf would swing the chainaxe forward, as many times as possible in order to cut through the joints on the limbs holding the pilot up, in order to bring the human to the astartes level in order to both set an example and a proper sacrifice to Khorne.

Orghast leaned forward and broke into a run, bolter cradled up against his chest. Lips parted for a grin as he advanced straight toward the Sentinel that had fired upon him. It had been a lopsided exchange, small arms fire denting a machine that had only managed to scald him with a heavy weapon like a las-cannon of all things. It was a fine opportunity to run a bit of propaganda past the enemy, and perhaps recruit something bigger than a Servitor to their cause. Nurgle loved everyone after all.

"YOU!" Death Guard pointed at the Sentinel pilot. Closing the distance the Astartes attempted to leap up onto a leg or the side of the las-cannon and haul himself up towards the cockpit. "You. Care to have a little chat about a new place in the grand order of Chaos? Or shall I send you to have a personal meeting with the Plague God?" An armored fist would hammer onto the glass, Orghast intending to soften it up before raising his bolter with free hand to fire if the pilot didn't seem too receptive.

"Thank you Fera!" Valu yelled up after making his shots, jumping back to his feet and reloading his rifle. Shortly after that he apologized as well to Satharn. "Tried my best to shoot the little ones off of you, milord! Forgive me for my shortcomings when it comes to aim!"

Now he had not only one, but two life debts to repay. Perhaps Fera's would be easier considering his medical skills and she being an actual human and not a demi-god. With a deep breath he backed off a bit to get into a more suited position for ranged fire somewhere in the center of the 'squad'. Trying his best to offer covering fire, rather than making an initiative.

Ghorzkha was given very little time to celebrate his slaughter of the human defenders, before he was attacked by a previusly unseen foe, though servitors where combersome and unskilled, witch allowed Ghorzkha just enough time to swing his axe op and parry the first blow, and the ones after as the servitors would try to keep attacking until his guard broke, though that wasent How This would go.
Roaring back at his mindless for, Ghorzkha attempted to do a hard parry, to throw the servitors weight off before laying into and ending its cursed existance.

"Focus both of your fires on the Sentinel."

"Lord of Battles better be pleased." Sobek answered after seeing his lord brought low by a mundane weapon, choler rising in his throat and the wound in his arm only stoking the fires of his anger.
As Corbulus charged Sobek manipulated the servitor, twisting its programing with his control rod to open heavy bolter fire upon the other Sentinel that wielded a lascannon.

Taking cover behind what he cough, Archimandrite did not charge this time after his lord but took more cautious approach. If he found any cover he would fire upon the autocannon wielding Sentinel with his webber pistol, aiming at its long legs, lest it tries to run from his Lord.

A snarl had spread on Xaviera's lips while she fought off the rats surrounding her, but now she was confronted by one of the spider-things in the roof making moves to attack. However, the beast was dropped by a stray bolt round and she dashed forwards to join Attelus at his side, aiming her laspistol for the rat ogre and unloading a succession of shots on him. "At your side, my lord!" she exclaimed over the din of combat.

Ausarius grinned with pride as he felt the psychic force lashing out through his fingertips, bolts of pure vengeance and unrestrained hatred - memories of watching the Fenrisian scum tearing through his People, his brothers, how they burned gorgeous buildings and stomped upon relics - clashing and tearing into the mighty 'ogre'.

All the same, he knew better than to let it get ahead of him, instead now bringing his spear up in a marvelous twirl - faint holes through the back end of the blade and the haft causing light 'whistles' that gave it an eerie, malevolent feel to outsides - and stepping back.
At seeing Xaviera nearby come to the aid of the Astartes that had landed beside him, the weapon was instead held back.

A split second of thought later, Ausarius did something he hadn't expected to do for a stranger.

The Thousand Son stepped forward and lifted his Force Spear, now keeping an eye upon the duo; should he find anything attempting to assault them, he would be there, shooting disruptive bolts of Empyrian energies to push them aside or batting their attacks and parrying with the weapon itself.

Rat Ogre roared as Attelus managed to jump back on his feet and striking with his sword, loop off one of the thing’s arms. Before it could retaliate, Xaviera began pounding it with las bolts, unloading an entire clip in its head, one of the projectiles piercing through its eyeball and into its brain. But the thing still wasn’t dead, instead of dropping it came forward, bringing its claw up and threatening to flatten the Slaaneshi psyker with the ground. Salvation came in form of Ausarius’ spear, the Thousand Sons marine staying on his toes and with a precise strike, stabbed through the Ogre’s armpit and annihilated its heart. Creature fell flat on its back, killing couple of giant rats alongside it. Satharn was nearby, the Night Lord cutting another of the spider things in two while Valu finished off the last one with a bullet in the chest.

Remaining vermin, seeing that they lost both the element of surprise and the numbers, as well as most of their bigger kin, did what every sane mutant would do and ran away, scuttling into the darkness of the corridor, their red eyes disappearing and leaving the intruders alone for a moment, allowing them to mend their wounds.

The respite was a short one though as something exploded in a nearby corridor, wall of rock and rubble dropping and cleared aside as a giant drill pushed in, creating a new exit out of the darkness the team landed with their assault ram. The said darkness was also dispersed as number of light globes illuminated the place and everyone could see couple of humans on top of the drilling machine, carrying mining equipment while flashlights shined from top of their helmets.

“Oi, anyone there?” one of the humans, by the looks of it some kind of a foreman carefully peered into the darkness, bringing a mechanized pickaxe to defend himself as his colleagues lighted up the corridor. He couldn’t really see the exact form of the intruders, but he saw outlines of people and it made him wave to them while struggling to see more. “We heard gun shots and rat screams, is everyone alright?”

Gorzkha easily parried the blow of the lobotomized servitor and with the return strike, caved its skull in after which he blasted it apart with his shotgun. He kicked the remains of the wretched thing just in time to see Sobek and his slaved servitor in action. Withering fire from the Sentinel, the servitor returned it in kind and blasted its armor apart while the heretek simultaneously fired his pistol, trapping one of the legs in place with the sticky web. Corbulus was paying attention to it and subsequently managed to climb it and crack open the cockpit. Inside he saw the pilot pulling out a grenade from his vest but before he could unpin it, the Alpha Wolf introduced him with his chainaxe and made a mess of the Sentinel’s interior as it was sprayed in blood and gore.

Orghast did something similar, although the end result was a bit different. Another two lascannon shots sallied past him and annihilated the nearby crates, the pilot of the walker obviously either too bad of a shot or too scared to make one count. Either way the Death Guard reached the Sentinel without any serious injuries and leaping onto it, his fist slammed through the reinforced glass as if it was nothing. Inside he saw a human in his late teens, the smell of urine hitting Orghast’s nostrils the moment the glass exploded. “Please, for the love of Emperor, don’t kill me! I surrender!” the boy squealed and rose his hands, letting go of the controls and making no attempt to attack the Plague Marine as he was now looking at the wrong side of the bolter barrel.

Erelak weaved a bit through the hangar, popping shots at the heavy combat servitor and always managing to stay two steps ahead of the lumbering monstrosity due to his jump pack. The thing was simply too slow to catch up and despite its potent weaponry, it couldn’t bring it to bear and for the most part, the heavy flamer and the power fist remained useless. However as the other part of the defending force had been dealt with by the Chaos intruders, the heavy servitor stopped dead in its tracks and turned its head to face the attackers, but instead of firing it activated its speakers.

“Attention Chaos scum, this is Warden Waltz talking,” the voice was gruff and commanding, but definitely human, “I don’t know what got into you to think that attacking my facility was a good idea but let me tell you, unless you immediately pack your corrupted asses and get the hell out of here, I’ll bring the wrath of the very Emperor down on your heads. Make no mistake, I’ve dealt with your kind before and I have devices here that’ll make little girls out of even the ugliest of your kind. This is your one and only warning, leave now or suffer the consequences.”

Nothing came out of the servitor’s vox speaker afterwards although the thing didn’t move, so perhaps it was waiting for some kind of an answer. On the other hand, Viator was not exactly nearby, the team could see the Scion of Slaanesh outside the control room on the floor above, currently standing above a group of not more than ten human serfs, all of them kneeling in front of him in supplication. Whether he heard the Warden’s threats slash demands, he made no mention of it as the platinum-haired warrior basked in the attention his newly-introduced servants gave him.
