playing assault from uk is ridiculous. i ground slam a player and as soon as i land he 180 dbs me, i proceed to heavy attack him 5 times in a row (he dbs everytime) then he 2 hits me with fast attack. i mean wdf is going on? another occasion i ground slam a nurgle when he jumps off a building and he just carries on walking like nothing happened, procedd to slam him again, nope he carries on walking then turns around and stuns me with one hit. on various other occasions i hit players in the back, hear the sound of hitting them, however, they still continue to run away as if not hit and have no damage taken.
Did I miss something and/or say stuff that has been on the PC since always? I did point out that this was the first time I'd EVER used the PC since I started playing. I just wanted to see how "badly" the PC had supposedly been nerfed. That and I can't help but feel as those complaining about the PC are the ones who mained it for ages and cheesed like pros with it till now (and who also complain about the shieldbros)
The lob fire function has been on the PC forever (or as long as I remember). Also, it hasn't been "nerfed" at all. Nerfed implies that it was an intended change, which it obviously isn't. It may be bugged, or whatever changes that actually were intended aren't finalized, but much more likely a bug. That being said, you were fine. Second point you are pretty correct on. Most of the playerbase agrees that the PC is/was too strong and needed a change. The only ones who vehemently defended it are those who main the PC and freak out whenever someone even mentions adjusting it. It's one of those things that will never really change, when something is too strong the ones using said item will never admit it and will instead BS until they get their way, or it gets changed anyways (if it does get changed, they then have a temper tantrum). If you pay attention, their favorite baseless argument is usually something like "hurr durr you just have to adapt, anyone who wants it changed just doesn't want to adapt" or something like that. Just ignore them otherwise you get pulled into some super long and silly argument with them where you just end up repeating yourself over and over anyways.
Although watching you shadowbox your strawman argument is entertaining, one of the big reasons PC was popular was that it was the only hard counter to SB, as well as being the only anti-vehicle ranged weapon that wasn't basically a suicide option when another player saw you (MM has a very short range and lascannon requires several seconds of uninterrupted reticule-on-target). It had a role it served that wasn't filled by anything else, and now that role is diminished as it does much less damage to vehicles and lower damage to players as well. Also, please don't make ridiculous blanket statements like "most of the playerbase agrees _____". You do not speak for most of the playerbase, and making a false appeal to the majority to support your own opinion does not make your opinion a fact.
Yeah, I gotta say, I'm really surprised they decided to lower the damage and blast radius of the plasma cannon. I've been very, very vocal about the weapon needing to be changed (Just ask Bladerunner, he knows!) but never have I ever thought it needed to "do less damage". The weapons damage was perfect, it did exactly what it should, terrifying area of affect, body sloughing armor melting goodness. What DID need to change was it should not have had a single fire mode. It should be an artillery weapon and be -amazing- at that one thing. The new direction they took with the gun just baffles me, it feels like all the posts we have been making about our opinions of it just were ignored and someone said "Well, that's all good information, but IMA DO THIS INSTEAD!"
Whether the PC is too strong or weak shouldn't be weighted against the Shieldbro of all things. You know as well as I do that I have supported tweaking the Shieldbro. Devs/Havocs are supposed to get sidearms so that they aren't just completely gimped against other units when taking an AV weapon. They still should be a disadvantage to other units to a point though, that's the whole point. You don't get your cake and eat it too. If you take an AV weapon, you suffer against infantry. Where as right now, the PC just outshines against all unit types. If anything, the PC should be brought down a bit, and the Lascannon should get some love. Even that should be a tempered decision though because as I said, the Devs/Havocs are supposed to get sidearms to help "make up the difference". (The HB is just sad right now though, hope they fix that). It didn't have just one role to serve, it served ALL the roles. That's a problem in balance no matter how you want to rationalize it. Also, most of the playerbase does agree, do some homework. You could literally just count posts through the threads that are "for" or "against" and get your answer. At the very least, most of the playerbase agrees it needs a tweak to bring it in line because it's doing too well. There are only very few (most of which are known by name for their stubborness by now) that think the PC is/was perfectly fine or even sillier was "too weak". I don't have to cite references for common knowledge. Edit: Realize, even though I say all this, I'm on your side that I don't like the current PC. It isn't right. Though I do think we need to fix up the unplayable patch a bit before we look into it. @NoobMister See what I mean?
In all fairness, this is correct. I never really thought the damage to the PC was the problem. The problem was the snap-fire and how fast you could "charge up". I never aimed for lower damage. I'd ask where they got those ideas from, but that would be assuming the changes were intended. I really do think this is just a bug/problem with the new patch that came out. I wouldn't call foul until they come out and tell us what is really up.
I don't like playing pc but when the match is overrun with shieldbros I'll load it up. Before I stopped playing due to lag issues I was unloading fully charged shots directly into people and not killing them. I hit one shieldbro twice with a charged shot and he was still standing. Whether it was lag or just the pc is bugged I'm not sure but I've never seen it so ineffective
