also i don't understand the manual vent for plasma. it has vents for exactly that purpose. no need to vent manually, and even worse is that you have to hold r down to vent.
-Defender lives in the Stronghold game mode have been reduced to 250 (from the original 300). This will be interesting to see if it is a good or bad change based on the other ones like the MoN nerf.
You know, I'm all for the Apo/Sorc having the same armor values as a regular Tactical/Traitor, but I am also kind of bummed that Bolter Tacticals are rather useless now considering an Apo with a Bolter is basically a Bolter Tactical with 30 medkits (that he can use on others). An Apo can even carry grenades like a Tactical. I can only assume (and hope) that when weapon mods and accessories are implemented it will flesh out the difference in the two classes with the Tactical being geared "stronger in combat" and the Apo being "stronger in support" (at least when both are using the Bolter.) Note: Yes I know that a Tactical can capture a control point, and Apos cannot, but I don't feel being able to capture a point is an "equal" trade for carrying around 30 "super" medkits. Note 2: Just to make this clear, I totally agree and am happy with the Dev's decision to bring the Apo/Sorc up to the same initial armor/weapon damage levels as the other units. I just hope future wargear will flesh them out as a support class and a direct combat class.
There really won't be that much because of the MoN nerf. They're still strong, and sorcs heal faster now. I'm still feeling pretty weak as a sorc, but that must be me. The faster healing is definitely nice. And quad guns should be that strong. PG and MAD murdered us with them today. They might need some tweaking, but they were too weak previously. Step in the right direction at least.
I remember playing a Tactical marine in Space Marine, making use of a Storm Bolter / Stalker Bolter combo. Maybe we'll get to play with extra loadout points for the Tactical to show his flexibility, or perhaps they will allow us to take up two "main" weapons in the future!
You know I'm not sure if that is the real issue here. I think the bigger problem at the moment is if you're playing tactical then why are you using a bolter? Plasma rifle is better and stalker bolter has more range. Think we need to wait for the balance passes to really see if Apo with bolter is really that much more useful.
Well using a Plasma Gun would be WAY less aggravating if it didn't blind out half your screen with every shot that's for sure. I would usually use a Plasma Gun (seeing as it is just generally better than the Bolter 90% of the time) but that blinding effect is just too hard on my eyes, and my aim. (I don't really like the Stalker Bolter, but I do know it is quite effective at what it does at the very least.) Truthfully, I figure with weapon/armor mods that the Tac will be able to have weapon mods/armor abilities the Apo won't have, and the Apo to have stuff the Tac won't have (probably geared towards support). That and I'm hoping specialist Bolter ammo is a thing at some point, and that at that point I can get on the RT and get that Sternguard Bolter I've been waiting to buy. I always found it weird that Bolters are supposed to be the "Go to" weapon for CSM and LSM forces but they are the least used weapons (in my experience) in the game. Well that, and the fact that Tacticals are supposed to be the majority of every SM army, but they are the least used class in most matches I'm in. Though I understand this is a game and some things just have to be like that, still irks me on that nerdy lore/fluff level though.
