Honestly, it's either your Video card is dying, or you are running something else at the same time that's eating resources. Check your task manager, see what's running. Try to make EC the only thing running. You can also try something like Process XP that let's you see your GPU usage, or the Nvidea control panel on your icons should also have an option to show what is currently using your GPU. Also, make sure that it is actually your GPU running the game and not an integrated card. Pairing both is a fairly common practice for manufacturers and sometimes the GPU might not actually kick in. Make sure EC IS using the GPU.
A GTX 950 does have 2GB of VRAM, which means I'm within spec range, hence why I was getting confused. @Drakonite Again, never had any issues with that before, even with XSplit running. Though strangely, the game started working again for me last night with no problems (again, with XSplit running as well). I also made sure Chrome wasn't using too much either, as that can be a memory hog when you have too many tabs open (though I only have one window open so I can see Twitch chat). Did they roll back to a previous version or did an update go through that I missed?
You're at the lower end of GPU specs and had your settings on high... You're probably running at the edge, so something in the background might give your system the tip it needs to crash. Restart your computer before you start the game should be a good way to ensure you're clean (as long as you didn't stuff your autostart with trash).
Wait, low end? It says the minimum spec card is a GTX 570 or 660. I know the 2GB of VRAM might be an issue, but I would hardly call a GTX 950 "low end". I'm not an expert when it comes to hardware, so are GPUs measured in terms of VRAM? I also double checked start up processes to make sure there wasn't too many "high" rated things running. Either way, as I said previously, the game fixed itself last night. Might try and see if I can go High settings again.
jesus christ guys, stop giving terrible advice. "buy a new graphicscard!" LOL. it's the game itself, it is horribly ineffecient with memoryleaks, etc. im running the game with a gtx660 on lowest settings and it runs just fine, every now and then I have the same issue as you, dont do anything, with another update/patch or whatever the hell these guys are doing the memory issues will stop. if you wanna make sure if its not your hardware (which im pretty fucking sure is jsut fine) run other demanding games and see if you get the same issues, in that case it might be your hardware, but as ive said: im pretty sure it isnt. the koolaid is strong among this community: shitty unoptimised game? BUY NEW HARDWARE. im literally shaking my head. i wish half this community would look so sceptical at...oh I dunno, the actual devs and their neverending parade of subpar output.
in that case its fine. im also in actual need to upgrade, but havent found a good deal yet. im sticking with the gtx series, prob 1070 but they are still expensive as fuck. im simply unwilling to pay the current price for em.
