I know they did but i'm curious if Exarch of that shrine favoring close combat could have a power sword as his main weapon and of course a shurikan pistol for example, or only range, that could be meant in several ways but only time will tell.
All classes will probably get to unlock their respective exarch level wargear (though probably won't be considered one because... well lore) for the sake of versatility.
This is a lot of propositions for only 4, and not 5, rooms. There are only 4 classes for marines and orks on official site currently, in my opinion there will be : - elite : wraith guard - heavy support : dark reaper - jumper : swooping hawk - healer : farseer I just hope I'll be able to play a warlock in the future, with more than decent close combat skills mechanics, like the Eldar hero in DOW2.
I don't think there will be a a ranger because they are snipers and that isn't really what the devs are trying to make EC. Maybe later after release though. Everything else I agree.
I have already posted my speculations on that HERE. My mind haven't changed much since then, but some 7 hours ago the Devs said that "Swooping Hawks will definitely swoop", so.. On this point I'm not sure. Personally, I wouldn't make Hawks the alternative to other races' Jump Pack troops, as they do a totally different thing. They jump into the thick of melee, while Hawks harasss from the sky, staying in the distance. And given only 5 classes, Hawks are hardly going to compensate for the lack of ground units. I would be glad to see them added after launch (and it's a possible scenario, as the Devs said something about aerial combat being a later addition), but for the start the best Fast Attack troop would be Warp Spiders, without a doubt.
One of the dev posts said "snipers" were likely "scouts" were not, for release at least, they probably wont work like fps sniper exactly though.
Pfft banshees, if they do they will drop the ball and suck like they do in current codex . Ideally, the choices should be all drawn from aspects, as its the militant arm of the race. Melee either Scorpions or banshees (scorpions preferred) Ranged. Reapers or Dragons. (Avengers if the devs hate us ) Jump, spiders or hawks Then probably seer of some kind.
You should consider, that the Devs officially stated they are not oriented by the latest codexes, but rather by the most canonic and lore-based image of the units, so Banshees should be a hit when they get to melee. And mind that Scorpions are considered to be more effective against more lightly armored troops (in EC they are represented only by Orkz), while Banshees with their Eldar power weapons pose more of a threat to heavily armored foes, which would be perfect. And for the hundredth time I say it - I pray we'll have both)
