Wraithlord is not a vehical, insted of that there should be Walker's it has more sence too me then a Wraithlord (dont get my wrong, i love the wraithlords and wraithguards) Becuse when an eldar dies and his soul stone will be ok , he can be wraithlord forever... and a Walker is like you can live it wherever you want
There is one huge problem with all Wraith walkers... They CANT funcion on their own :/ They constantly need a Spiritseer or other seer in the vicinity, othervise they are technically blind and can stop moving/acting altogether. This is called "Wraithsight". The phenomenon means, that they see both the real world and the warp overlapping eachother, hence their confusion. Since the spirits that reside in the stones hower between these two worlds. Thats why they are never seen without a spiritseer (who are the masters of rising such wraith constructs to life, since its a really delicate and hard porcess, even so with a wraithlord) or other seers who provide vision for them. Soooo yea... and they dont like to use them that much. As I mentioned, they abhor using them, since they consider it on par with necromancy (which, if we want to be correct, it is necromancy xD). If the devs are truely sticking to the lore, then they will think twice to implement all wraith walkers. Othervise they will need to heavily bend the lore for them to work! And remember, Wraith walkers are not that common! Only on Iyanden, but mostly because most of that craftworld's population is decimated by tyranids ^^;
If I remember correctly, someone among the devs was against dreadnoughts as "vehicle" because you have to be more or less dead to be able to operate one. Thats almost the same for all wraith walkers, you can't pilot them, there is no way that a player could operate them. Even as a seer, as Kilgar mentioned, you're just clearing their sight, they still operate on their own will, that is powered by the soulstones in the walker. Maybe, if we're lucky, we'll see them as NPC in our mothership or home base. But I can't see a possibility how they could become playable
im guessing this will be the eldar class line up Warlock, dire avenger, howling banshee/striking scorpion, pathfinder/ranger, bonesinger, fire dragons/dark reapers, swooping hawks, MAYBE shining spears (or lances--the jetbike dudes)
To make me agree with this statement, the definition of similar would have to be vague to the point of irrelevancy. Reapers are great ranged support but they are not Fire dragons. Lore wise Fire dragons can burn to ashes literally anything, including terminators with one shot. Can't balance something like this as an aspect though. So you get watered down dragons in both tabletop and games.
Dark Reapers. Slow, purposeful, hits like trucks. Fire Dragons. Normal Infantry. Pure Anti-Vehicle, amazing against Heroes / Termies and what not.
Only because balance. Melta guns are as powerful against infantry as they are against tanks in practise/lore. A melta gun going off can melt multiple ranks of infantry. That's the kind of fire-power you need to completely dominate any vehicles you come across. The only disadvantage Dragons have lore wise is short range. That is a big minus.
