There is asymmetry there indeed. You get as an ork 2 weapons that do mostly the same(las and kannon)<especially as you insist the kannon is NOT an AI weapon even if it has AOE for some reason for killing vehicles>. While the LSM and CSM get a las /\ and smth that has no equivalent in the ork arsenal. Where is the balance though? Yes the kannon might be a little better than the las. Who cares as long as the others use meltas anyway to a better effect. Also, show me where i talked about changing the kannon. Its not the kannon that needs changing, is the PC
Is there a trick to the kannon? Finally unlocked it, used full charge shots and was doing 0 damage to a rhino. Am I just that derpy or did I miss something?

From my play with the Kannon Deffgun it takes 5 fully charged shots at the rear armor of a transport to kill it. I didn't stopwatch it or anything but it's about a 3 second charge and a 3 second reload time per shot. that's a full 30 seconds for a single ork to be able to kill a transport barring harrassment from enemies etc. Every other race has people who run the Double Melta combo of Melta Bombs and Melta/Fusion Guns. Which kill a transport in approximately 3 seconds. Even taking into account that the Kannon has max range, which is irrelevant as almost all transports are generally hidden from long line of sight for because of Kannons and Las/Zzap guns, that means it would take 5 orks to do the job of a single unit for every other faction in the same amount of time. (5 shots all with 3 second charges, no reload time) It should also be noted all other factions' tank killers are their infantry(tactical, traitor or fire dragon) unit (multi-melta notwithstanding but I rarely see that since the normal one is sufficient), NOT their heavy weapon unit, meaning they all can have at least knives in their loadouts in addition to insta-gibbing all vehicles with little to no chance of counter-attack. While ours cannot defend themselves at all. Which means Kannon Lootas cannot approach to do their intended Anti-Vehicle job since they will get killed immediately by literally any enemy with proabably any loadout. Meaning you might be lucky enough to get 1-2 shots off before dying and waiting for the 15 spawn timer and the run back. Making ork Time To Kill on a vehicle in the MINUTES compared to everyone else who can all but guarantee a kill on the first try unless an ork is actively protecting a vehicle(and even then he might not succeed). Ork's best anti-vehicle shoota weapon is the rokkit launcha, which takes over a dozen rokkits all directly hitting the rear armor to kill a vehicle, even with a supastikkbomb, that's upwards of 45 seconds for an ork to take out a transport alone, at the same range as a melta as the rokkit launcha is unreliable at much farther distance. The only effective strategiesi've come up with are a Stormklaw Boy, going for 3 heavy klaw hits and a sticky stikkbomb to finish. But that's still about 4 times slower, and far more risky. And the other is a Power Klaw Slugga boy which can go double sticky stikk bomb and go with 2 klaw power attacks, and double stikkbomb the vehicle, which is only twice as slow as everyone else, but is incredibly risky. I should also mention that it is impossible to stick a bomb on an eldar vehicle rear armor because of the way it is sloped. So it's impossible to even cut the time in half when fighting them. And i've been killed by an unpiloted eldar tank because it bounced after my own power klaw attack. Although it is rare that you can attack static eldar vehicles because the drivers don't usually get out as they insta-kill anything that approaches because they have grav tank controls and can side strafe, whereas orks have front wheel drive car controls. So ork vehicles are literally worse in every way possible to eldar ones. Even L/CSM can at least turn in place since they have treaded vehicles. Also to anyone who likes to point out the ork 50hp thing. Take into account that eldar models are probably half the size of everyone elses, making their effective hp double what it is for ranged combat because they are harder to shoot, in addition to being faster and having better evasion. So eldar base effective health is the best in the game. This also means orks generate more friendly fire against eldar because missed shots may hit allies, so ork effective hp against eldar is actually lower.
Everything you said is absolutely right, but I'll focus on this. We need something that kills that fast, no matter what it is. I don't care if it's an Ork covered in bombs, or a Tank Hammer that takes 3 seconds to swing, we need a boy that can destroy vehicles. Orks on the tabletop don't have a problem taking out vehicles, because when we charge a tank with a power klaw, it's going to a crater as sure as if a multimelta got it.
If it's a problem with art assets and such, there's a really easy fix in the meantime if our meltagun isn't ready. Make Ork ammo boxes replenish grenades as well. Just orks, till we get a meltagun. That way our stikkbombas can tackle vehicles as well as a a meltagun for a significant investment
I have noticed the Kannon doing more damage to quads than a Zzap or lascannon per shot. Dunno if thats a bug or not but I solo killed a quad in half the shots it takes me to kill one with a zzap.
