Orkz Allying With Chaos? Possibly?

Discussion in 'Orks' started by Aadil, Oct 23, 2013.

  1. not the orks. if it were orkish spores then yes they would. but not normal fungai. also, have none of you read about the octarius war that kryptman started? nids vs orks. nids started hugeley outnumbered, but they ended up killing the ork leader via a brilliant and very specific and planned out assassination using venomthropes, feints with gaunts, and lictors. giving them time to become at LEAST of equal size force to the orks.
  2. seriously?

    are you..

the tyranids number more than the orks. far more. they contain the biomass of at least an entire galaxy. i dont care what you say. thats more than the orks have. seriously where are you guys...getting...uhg.

  3. no they don't, how can you accurately say they out number orks, when neither sides population has been specifically said to outnumber the other by the people who actually write it say so. Both sides of this argument is speculative information based on each of our individual readings and research. From what I have found, orks are as old as the Eldar, and reproduce quickly, so too me it seems one war over a sort amount of time would not be able to stop millenniums of reproduction. The orks fight each other yes, but they were created by the old ones a shit ton of years ago. Yes the nids also reproduce reallllllyyy fast, but I doubt fast enough for that. And the particular war you have heard of is also the only one I have heard of. There is not really a ton of infformation to go of on either side, but too me it seems very likely that there are more orks. Multiple sources I have also read from the books/wiki state if the orks all banned together into one actual fighting force more like the imperium (not counting Chaos), then they would control everything. So I back the orks, they just seem more likely to me.

  4. Tyranid codex inflates tyranid numbers. Ork Codex inflates ork numbers.

However Tyranids have much more expendable units than orks. Essentially your typical ork (not yoof, I mean ork) can take out a good number of gaunts (which you have to admit are very expendable). Basically both use numbers, as their strenght, but one relies on expendability more than the other. Now this is what I gather when looking at both 'dexes:

The Tyranids have 1-10 galaxies of biomass that are enroute to the Milky way, but are coming in as a trickle.
The best example of an Ork vs. Nid battle is Octarius: The Tyranids managed to use strategy to kill off Boss Skarfang, but that was only one boss. Boss Blaktoof lead a counterattack that gutted the Tyranid offensive, leaving it as a stalemate, stalemate meaning both sides are slaughtering each other with neither gaining any ground. Tyranids get a stead supply of biomass from other worlds they overran before hitting Octarius, and the lure of battle attracts fleets of orks from around the galaxy.

Basically Orks will hold the initial advantage, then Tyranids will adapt and even the odds. Then Orks will stop 'foolin around' and get serious leaving the two locked. Nids contiunue to adapt, and any ork that survives their initial fight with the nids gets even harder for the nids to kill.

If I came off as rude i apologize, that was not my intent. However Ork spores are not so much a weak point as much as they are something the Tyranids can exploit to their advantage. The lore says they strip planets of all life including micro-organism/bacteria so it just stands to reason they can do the same thing with ork spores. However you make very valid point about the mycetic spores. They could very well indeed increase ork population/boy growth. However that may just mean that Tyranids can take out an entire ork population then wait for the orks to grown again then consume them again before they can became a force to be reckoned with. Rinse and repeating this process would make a very large and scary hive fleet. BTW Orks are tied with Chaos as my favorite army. I am no Nid fanboy just saying that when it comes to it i think the nids have a better shot at winning. Hell the Necrons are scared of em.

  6. If Tyranids have 'Far more' troops than even the Orks, why haven't they taken over the Galaxy by now? It's because they haven't arrived yet and nobody knows when or even if they will. If we're just basing this argument on hypotheticals then I say a new Warboss emerges that rivals 'The Beast' and unites all the Orks who then proceeds to wipe out the Tyranid hive fleets and conquer the galaxy.

Orks were genetically engineered for War. Their sole purpose in life is bloodshed and conquest. If they have thrived for 60 million years despite fighting everything the galaxy threw at them, I don't think some glorified space bugs will be able to wipe them out.

Actually, Orkz are the predominant species in the Milky Way. And, judging by the recording an Imperial probe sent from outside the Milky Way, there also are many, many Orkz outside of our galaxy. Simply put, we have no idea of how many Nids are waiting outside the galactic disk, but we also don't know how many Orkz there are.

Pretty much there's no official number of how many Orkz or Tyranids there are. I doubt the Eldar even know. You could keep arguing all day which species as the largest army, but it's futile. Since Orkz and Tyranids both multiply like crazy, plus there's just too many of them out there to count.
  9. I was never going on about numbers. I was talking about strength. Tyranids rely on expendable units to waste the enemy's ammo before hitting them with the harder stuff. Orks rely on hitting the enemy with a wall of expendable ammo before going in range with the tougher boys and chopping them up.

Hence why the two are stalemated.

  10. I suppose the point of contention is less who has the largest Army and more "Nidz are way smarter than Orkz lol how could silly Orkz ever win?" whcih really sparked things off especially useless debate points like "Nids would eat all the Ork spores" to which the answer is "Yea and Orks would just kill the nid ships, so what?".

Point being if it exists an Ork can kill it.
