I'm kind of playing role of a Chaos Lord or something If you know what I mean by "Roleplaying". lol I'd rather spend years, decades of torture then serve the corpse emperor. Besides, is that fear I sense in you? "worse agonies imaginable"? It sounds as if you have been subjected to the Gods themselves, are you afraid of a little torture? of a little pain? Would you not go through all that pain and torture, and sacrifice to obtain what you most desire? Besides, if the Gods really thought we were ants, why give us these powers then? Because they want us to win, they want to give us what we most desire.
Oh come on.. the Emperor may have lied but it was so that the Imperium wouldn't be corrupted by Chaos if they didn't know about it's existence at all. Apparently this was working well at first since the Chaos Gods found the Imperial Truth a threat to their plans but obviously that didn't work well in the end. But i doubt even the Chaos fans really think the Emperor did it for bad reasons. I mean look at how well everything was going before Chaos came and fucked it all up . The Chaos Gods basically do everything out of plain evilness. If Chaos in the WH universe was a bit more neutral i'd be with them i have to admit.
That's well and good but you've selectively chosen to follow that snippet as the Nids in question are stated as sightings on the edges of the warzone hence they're overflow from the battlefield and why it says that the imperium fears that they may be winning it also fears what would happen if the Orks win don't forget that 5th edition was 1 edition of lore ago and that just as the Nids get stronger from Orky biomass the Orkz are getting bigger and stronger the tougher the Nids get the stronger the Orkz get. In the Codieces words whoever wins the Imperium loses.
Why would they just eat spores? what good is eating spores? Nids need biomass......MASSES OF IT.....a spore is what? like a 50th of an ounce and fits on the head of a pin? do you know how pointless it would be for them to go harvesting it especially when Ork spores are just skin flakes so are constantly falling from the Orks bodies everywhere they go.
Despite being a huge ork fan the nids do have the upper hand. They are not just mindless creatures. Read some of their lore and you will realize they are quite tactically sound. They go after weakpoints. So it stands to reason they will find out how the orks reproduce and try to negate it. IE eating spores. Even if spores don't give a lot of biomass it would be worth consuming just to end the ork/nid stalemate.
I've read the lore; you shouldn't question someones credentials simply because they don't seem to hold a faction in the same regard as you it is quite rude. Fact is that Orkish reproduction is not an exploitable weak point since it would firstly be costly to purge Orkish seeding spores from a planet hell there are Imperial Worlds who centuries after fighting off a Waaaggh are still trying to pull off a successful de-sporing, in addition to the fact it's not actually a weak point so much as a side effect of Orks inhabiting an area since reproduction is both A-Sexual and a passive proccess with no conscious effort or desire being required by the Orks; it is also a costly and time consuming and no doubt bio-mass consuming process to remove Orks from the world and that's ASSUMING the nids even won in the first place afterall the rippers are only released in large enough numbers to zap up the micro-scopic spores being released by hundreds of millions of Orks occupying an Empire World after the Orks are defeated. Consider this if you will; Tyranids use their (I forget the technical term so we'll call them) Spore Chimneys to release air born growth agents which are metabolised by Fungal and Plant based life forms inorder to increase the bio-mass (and presumably roughage) harvested by the fleet. Now also consider the Orks possess not only a Fungal growth/reproductive cycle but are also part fungal on the DNA level; so when they're kicking out Growth Hormones that target Botanical and Fungal life guess who else get's a shot of steroids? (Yes I realise this part is speculative but it's a bit of fun for consideration.)
doesnt matter. they eat every single bit of biomass. hell, the venomthropes just eat biomass by being near it. the spores would be eaten without even having to try to do it. they make virus/bacteria sized tyranids, just as they make tyranid ammo and tyranid weapons that are all alive, and that stuff eats the things that are that small. seriously. not that hard to grasp.
