I think giving Orks a sniper weapon/class would be a tad un-orky. If you wanted to balance it against a class that used a sniper rifle there are a couple of ways to do it that I can think of off the top of my head: Make snipers weapons weak (low damage/ROF/other in exchange for long range) Make snipers highly specialised (sniper weapons only available in certain areas/other) Make Orks have damage resistance to snipers ( e.g 50% damage from sniper weapons) Remove sniper class from all classes. As far as giving orks a long ranged class, lootas would full that role just fine I think.
Blood Axes are a bit un-orky. They are trying to organize their hordes, trade with other races. Why can't they steal the idea of sniper weapon?

If you want to root out a sniper, you just need to be a stormboy or a kommando. If it's heavily fortified, it can be smashed down by the tougher classes like nobs/meganobs or long range artillery.
I'm not sure if they're actually mentioned all that frequently, but I'm glad you guys thought of grot snipers as well. I know they're mentioned in at least one novel: Rebel Winter by Steve Parker. I was going to suggest them as well, but then we'd need grots as well.
