ORKS: Why are we still mainly ranged?

    Well that is a valid tactic, but I've been encountering moments where I will be D-bashed by a Space Marine and SPUN AROUND so that my back is now to him. BOOM! Instant death. That happened 5 separate times last night and I have no idea why my character suddenly decided to moon a Marine after he smacked me. *sigh* I really hope the devs can start fixing these issues before this game dies.

    the problem with balance in general is it isnt a series of tweaks. it feels like a sort of teeter totter where things are incredibly tilted in one direction and then the other. that said the feature patches have been slowly chipping away at the overall problem.

    The problem lies partially with the fact that melee is the clunkier of the two types of combat by far. If you get in a situation bigger than 1v1, melee becomes a clusterfuck, especially for orks and their weird jumpy animations and (I think?)extra stuns. I once won 1v3 against sluggas before as a tac solely because they kept stunning and blocking each other trying to hit me. It was hilarious to watch, but I almost felt bad afterward...almost.
  4. This topic brings to light the overall lack of variety in playstyle options and lack of unique wargear options for mostly Astartes and Ork Ground Assaults.

    With the current state of the game all ground assaults are basically getting ranged classes "hand me down" wargear. With the exception of Eldar melee classes, GA's get the same stuff and same capabilities as Tactical classes. That makes no sense what so ever. A ground assault with no shield should have special abilities and special wargear UNIQUE TO ONLY GROUND ASSAULTS WITH NO SHIELD.

    The fact that ground assaults, that are 100% reliant on mobility for every single melee kill, start with the same exact stamina as ranged classes, shows just how broken things are for Ground Assaults.

    Non shield bearing Ground Assaults are:

    1. Outgunned by ranged classes
    2. Outmaneuvered by Jump/Flying Classes
    3. Out tanked by Shield bearing opponents
    4. Out healed, out poisoned by Supports.

    What unique capability do non shield bearing Ground Assaults bring to the fight? They bring NOTHING unique/special to the fight. This needs to change in 2017.

    Or it can stay as is seeing as you get more lp to put into other things like...Oh...a plasma pistol/grav pistol? Better armor? A different play style entirely.

    Personally I think orks should just get their armor knocked down by grenades, not killed when a melee drops one at out feet. Think about it, they throw out chunks of metal...we NAIL metal to our faces...shrapnel should just tickle us, not kill us. But to the rest of it...Yes, I agree. Oh, and WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGH!
