I don't know if the devs have gotten to the point where they throw up their hands and say "good enough" or what but there are so many many things that need drastic improvement/ changes. Going over railing. They roll over, then if by magic continue to hover over on the other side for a second. This has gotten me killed more times than I can count. My marine immediately starts falling. Going up and down inclines. It breaks your sprint as an ork a good amount of times when you go up and down ramps. Melee movement distance. For the race that is supposed to accel at melee, they sure don't move like it. Swing your weapon and you do a sad little bunny hop. Anyone can roll back and shoot you after a bash. Try that against marines and you die. Hell with a power weapon marines literally ice skate across the floor faster than they can sprint! That is not remotely balanced. For gods sake, fix our klaw and stormboy. Stormboys don't have NEARLY the response time, and cannot jet pack out of a stunning. The klaw is literally a power fist clone and yet they feel it should somehow be inferior in every way to a marines. Why? Because a capping class can use it? So can chaos ground assault. This one bothers me the most. The most iconic ork weapon, and it's virtually unusable. Please mirror it exactly, from speed to distance traveled. Would anyone be so kind to link the devs to this post as I am not sure how to.
Only a problem with Lootas for me. Every other class goes over railing fine. In a weird non-gamey way I kinda like it as it is as cartoony as the Orks themselves. Yep, needs fix. Not sure if our melee is broken or theirs but we are definitely at a disadvantage. Fix the Klaw full stop for any class that uses it. @MichaelChan @BrentEllison There ya go!
I'll give you points for the first thing. Can't recall a moment where incline broke sprint. Keep in mind I've been up for nearly twenty four hours so reasonable doubt there. Third point I can't agree with you on. Roll back and get shot happens to us all, can't say I've ever noticed any skating, and chaos marines are supposedly equally melee oriented but orks get more variety with choppa blades as an extra choice not analogous to anything the marines have as well as more pistol kinds. Fourth point the evading out of stun with a jump character still seems hit or miss for everyone. As for claw I believe it is equal, the thing makes it seem so being different animations and slight unclearness on exact timing for full charge and hit etc. Last point, slap down this @ and start typing a forum poster's name right after it without any spaces. After a few letters a name should pop up that you can select to autocomplete a tag. The device are on break right now though. Everything resumes in January.
Run up and down the inclines on the second fortress map on the walls. I guarantee your ork will stop. I disagree with more weapon choices for orks. Marines have knife, chains word, power sword, power axe, maul and fist. What orks have is more visual customization. We have fists, chain choppa, choppas from axe to sword, with an electric one with better pen (uses choppa mods) a maul stick thingy that is more like a billy club than a maul, and the klaw. And there is no way you could EVER confuse the fist and klaw working the same way if you had used them both. The difference is night and day. Klaw literally add 1.5 seconds to the charge attack. For fast attack, get on the same map for both characters. Are hoe long it takes you to get from point A to point B with both. What took me 14 seconds on your marine took 19 on my ork, with 3 swings more needed to cover almost the same distance (marine was up against the opposing wall, ork was about a body length away still.
Running up inclines is a big issue right now, especially stairs. At the top step of stairs there's a couple of hitbox issues that your character can run into that slows you down or just downright blocks you. As eldar, it's the sides of the stairs near the railings, and sometimes directly in the middle. I don't know how they make their maps or how all the assets snap together or whatever, but right now it isn't right. Hope they can fix this. It's true, orks need a lot of tuning. But I would say eldar are even more deserving of content right now. In the department of more weapons and weapon variants, and cosmetics, and of course smoother/better animations. Fuck, I used to say that warlock had literally NO cosmetic options. Can't say that anymore cuz now they have 1 (ONE) helmet with some godawful ears tacked onto it. IMO, the dev's priorities should be like this: Eldar Orks CSMs Maps (and map tuning) Vacations Wildcard LSMs
