SHOOTA I really want to believe you, really, but unfortunately when I try to use a shoota it takes half a (large, with 80 bullets) magazine to down anything. I just finished a game where I sneaked up on a Havoc and unloaded point-blank, still took way longer than in your video to kill him. Let's just say the huge Chaos backpack protects them from headshots from behind... Accuracy is fine though, I'll admit that much. And the damage drop may come from an un-listed penalty on the magazine, who knows? Wouldn't be the first time the game lies to us about weapon stats.
I just hope once melee is fixed for Orks that we don't do a 180 and become the OP faction. I just want to be even grounded and we already CAN win despite our deficiencies. That's the only thing that has me worried.
I'll be happy on the day there are a few "X Faction is OP!" threads for all the factions. That will tell us we're all where we need to be.
Thats what I'm most afraid of tbh. The loot boxes provide a very real threat of that happening once people get stuff finally.
Lol boys let's cross this bridge when we get to it. According to the lore and tabletop we are supposed to be a melee focussed faction. I really don't see the problem with the melee in patch 22 apart from the dbash not firing correctly for some classes.
That's probably because you're using the big shootah, which has more bullets and more penetration but deal much less damage past 8m. It's a very close range weapon, like the storm bolter. Also, aim for head.
It's a valid concern. Nothing trains you faster than a small handicap. I'll be happy when I can take off this weighted clothing and show the gitz what the business end of a choppa can do when i'm not wading through molasses.
I think it's part of the reason Eldar are doing pretty well. Most Eldar players were Chaos before too, and Chaos were underpowered compared to LSM at that point (Mark of Nurgle OPness shortly before the Eldar release notwithstanding).
It's certainly contributes, though I believe many Eldar players overstate the impact it has. The hard core of Orks and the current CSM are all old-time CSM as well. We have all had the same training experiences up until very recently. It would be interesting to see how well Eldar players could adapt to playing as nothing but a slugger boy for a week.
